Hey guys,

Last time I took my 34ER out for a shoot, I noticed that the top barrel no longer ejects the shells once they've been fired.

Extraction works, but the last little kick to fling it out is no longer functioning. Bottom barrel works no problem.

Now that Armrus has gone tits up, does anyone have any knowledge on how to fix an ejector on one of these? I know it will involve removing the forestock on the gun, but want to make sure it's something I can service before I pull it apart.

Thanks in advance!

have you taken the barrel off? do so and take a look at the extractors from the sides, the top extractor should be on the left side of the barrel... is there crud stuck on the tracts that the extractor slides along?

Nope, it's clean as a whistle. There is no distinctive 'snap' from the top barrel when the action cracks open. I'm thinking it's a spring of some sort that's busted.

Canucklehead,

Separate the barrel from the receiver.

Take the 2 screws off the forearm and separate its 2 pieces from the barrel.

Have a good look at the ejector parts (something might be broken).

If everything looks ok, just clean and oil well. Then see if it works.

If it doesn't work or you see something broken, take it to a gunsmith.

Good luck.

Important note: When reassembling a Toz-34, the ejectors must be all the way out otherwise you may cause damage.

Well, I disassembled the forend and found my problem. The little spring that activates the ejector was not seated properly.

If you look on the underside of the gun, near the TOZ trademark logo, there are two little reddish colored bars that run parallel to the barrel. They look like little inlays, but they are actually springs.

I couldn't figure out how to fix the one, so I just reassembled it... and now it works! Kinda bizarre, as the spring didn't look like I could get it to work, but I guess it was just unseated a bit. Weird to say the least!

Anyway, all fixed and all is well. Thanks for the tips guys.
