Recently purchased a TOZ 78, and now intend to mount a BSA Huntsman
3-9X40MM scope.

Can anyone tell me where to purchase a good mount? Must be see thru...
dont want to remove the rear site. This rifle is very accurate....
Also, what is the measurement of the mounting rail?? 8.5mm ....11mm
or??

Anyone else out there having trouble finding a mount that fits??

Thanks

I have a Russian EST mount. It sits quite high, but allows you to easily use the iron sights. The rail is a 9mm rail and is kind of a pain to find rings. Here is the pics of the EST mount. I bought it at kalinka optics. The rifle is a tack driver with Federal Bulk HP. Right now it is not wearing the 8x40 Leupold, I have a Russian 4x32 Pilades scope on it, the Leupold was a wee bit unwieldy for the rifle.

Thanks for the reply! That is the exact mount I am looking for. Checked with Kalinka, that mount will not be available until maybe November or so......nice pics.....guess I am gonna have to wait....your TOZ has a different stock, and looks great. I wonder if there is another company that carries this?

Also, went to a local gun shop.....purchased Weaver 3/8 mounts and they seem
to be a liitle too big......gonna look for dovetail mounts tomorrow...maybe have better luck, and they may do me until November or earlier I hope....thanks again

No problem!

Also try w w w.airgunsonly.com . I had used a set of rings from him for a bit till I found the Kalinka mount. They worked not too shabby, are made by Hawke, part number HM6106. They just clamped enough to grab the rail tight, but were pretty much bottomed out for adjustment. The EST mount is the way to go, fits nice and tight.

The toz-78 is the same as the winchester wildcat. If you google winchester wildcat scope mount there is a quite a bit of info.

The receiver has 8.5 mm grooves. Apparently what you need is 3/8 rimfire rings which are split in the middle so that when they clamp down that little bit extra, it stays symmetrical.

The following rings reportedly work:
Famous Maker FMR6
Warne 721M
Warne 701M
Weaver 49515
Leupold 57405
Millet Tip-offs

The other option is to order a mount from Kalinka Optics. I guess they are sold out of the toz specific mounts at the moment, but they do have universal mounts and dovetail adapters that may work.

Toz 78

Thanks DAR701 and others for the information, unable to find dovetail mount locally, so looks like the HM6106 will be my sub....until November. Thanks everyone for the information.

Kodiak, I purchased one of your .22lr last week, have not used it yet, but will be competing (open sites) against my son this weekend who will be using the CZ 452 Lux. Will let you know the results.....

Again, Many Thanks

Toz 78

Ok the results are in, after a few hours on the range, I am impressed with this
rifle. Open sites, at 25yrds.......dead center bulls 5 rounds groups little bit bigger than a dime......at 50 yrds.....not so good....1inch groups 5 round.
Might say it was the rain, high winds N 30 Gusting 50, and using hollow point.
Next time, will try the high velocity rounds. As for my son, and his
CZ, were gonna have to call this one a tie. Very little difference in the two.

So was the TOZ worth it? Yup, it sure was.
