I removed the kingscrew then I could not discern how to remove the rear end cap for the receiver. From what I can tell by shining a flashlight in the receiver, this end cap HAS to be removed to get at the buried screw in there.

The only way It can be secured in there is by a bayonet stud sort of deal where you twist it then pull it off. Any ideas on this, because I haven't tryed nothin' an' I'm all out of ideas.

I took a closer look at the piece. I could just see a slot that went part way up the side of the piece on the left. I tapped the piece off with a rod & mallet. It ended up being held on by spring tension. the cap was cut partially away to clear the wood and the rear action screw. Two spring loaded fingers had divots on the end which presumably fit into two corresponding detents in the receiver somewhere below the woodline.

This is minor but might help someone else out. I could not find any pictures of the part online.

In the future, keep the trigger depressed and tap the cap off by sliding the bolt rearward. On a cleared gun of course.
I've seen what happens when someone doesn't know this trick, the rear action screw gets bent or ripped out of the stock during disassembly, the rear screw is easy to miss, being covered by the cap.
Any idea how to completely disassemble the bolt?

I did look in there with a flashlight before tapping anything on the first go around and saw the action screw. I was thinking this is a good spot for a threaded bedding pillar but right now it is not an issue. Thanks for the tip, I don't know why I didn't think of it myself. I have no ideas on the bolt, I am not going to mess with it unless I have to. ;)
