Hello,

Receintly I bought the brand new russian semi-auto 22LR TOZ-99, it is very accurate (with scope I am getting 1/2 MOA at 50 yards)

But sometimes it gives double shots and almost every 3-4 rounds misfire. I tried different brands of ammo with standart veliosity. No difference. As I see from the shells, the firing pin gives a good solid mark on the brass, but for misfired rounds I can see only light print.

Did any one had same issue? Please help.

Thank you.

Thanks for reply!

No the rifle is clean. The problem starts after 5-10 rounds. I noticed that the small sear spring does not engage and disangage smouthly. It might lead to sear going back without stopping and releasing firing pin the same time.
I will try to change it (have some springs available)
May it be the reason?

Thanks.

I had a Mossberg semi 22 years ago. It would sometimes fire 2 or 3 shots with 1 trigger pull. I shot my 1st fox with that rifle. He popped his head over a hill and I hit him right between the eyes with 2 bullets about 1/4" apart from 1 trigger pull. Anyway my dad changed the sear and spring and that straightened her right up.

Thanks again!

I have just found little smaller by diameter but stronger spring. Replaced. Going to range on this weekend. Will update if problem is solved.

Hi,
I just came back from the range. Issue stil exists :-(
I will try to find a new sear or I will go to a gunsmith.
Will update when the rifle is OK.
Thanks.
