Toz 99 opinions & used value ?

I have been offered a nice, low count Toz99 semi auto .22lr. I used to have a bolt action Toz ( winchester wildcat heavy barrel), and aside from the cheap plastic mags, it was well built, and accurate. I know nothing about the semi auto toz99 however, and was wondering how accurate & reliable it is ?

This model is a standard barrel with adjustable sights, 4 magazines, and has less than a brick down the pipe. I'm not sure, but I think the trigger is adjustable. What would be a fair price on one that is in exc condition ?

How would the accuracy compare to another semi, like a 10/22...and a decent bolt action .22lr.

They were sold here in Oshawa at Gagnon's last year on a blowout sale for around $149 new if I remember correctly. Many had issues where the sear would crack through, and no replacement sears were available. They seemed like a well made rifle with decent accuracy, but based on the sear issues, I wouldn't offer a lot of money for one. On the lower end, $100, on the upper end, $150, but I certainly wouldn't pay $200 for one. Just my 2 cents however.

For a semi auto stick with standard velocity ammo. This will help the sear to last a bit.
TOZ says to avoid the high velocity .22 ammo.

There was a huge thread on Rimfire Central detailing the types of problems that owners were experiencing with these guns. Pretty much a must-read before you consider getting one. I wanted one until I read it...no interest any more.

I picked up a used 99 on this site a number of years ago for @ $130 if I recall correctly. Very accurate but I'm having feeding problems with it now. I have to do some work on what ammo works best and also make sure that the mags are the ones that came with it. Apparantly the factory fitted the mags to each individual rifle and my problem is I've got @ 12 mags from 3 different TOZ's and they are all mixed up.
My opinion would be $100 - 125 for a used one based on the problems that affect SOME of the TOZ's and the inavailibility of parts.
They are fantastic rifles IF everything works.
The bolt action TOZ is sweet, one of my favourite rim fires to shoot ( and I have lots of rim fires to choose from ).
