Anyone know what the story is with regards to shooting/reloading the Berger 155.5gr fullbore for Target Rifle(sling)? a couple years ago I ended up with 200 of these in a trade, just finally looking at them.
I just put on a new barrel, Lapua 155gr scenars are right on 2.820" coal touching rifling, but these 155.5gr bergers are 2.965" by the time they touch rifling, very long.
So, do people who shoot these just jump them a lot(.150"), hang onto them by barely .12" or so, go somewhere in between, or use a special chamber with pretty much zero freebore at all to get around 2.80 COAL? (which wouldn't pass a gauge test at say bisley...) just curious what the strategy is with these.
thanks
