tracer ammo

I think it's illegal. Don't take my word for it, but search around a little bit an you'll probably find some information on tracer rounds.

Hell, if it is legal, I'd get some too...

it is 100% LEGAL

Check the EE. I don't know about the calibres you are looking for, but I have seen 308 and 30-06 tracers for sale there before

Tracer is only loaded in military rifle calibers 30-03, 308,223,50BMG etc.. I guess the factories don,t think that the bagging and roasting of game at the same time would be multi tasking.

NRCAN has decided that tracer ammo cannot be approved for commercial sale. You are unlikely so see any being imported as a result. It is however perfectly legal.

would be cool, if a range let you use it. The law to my understanding only prohibits rounds that detonate or ignite "on impact", armour piercing rounds, and flechette shells.

I have one box of 22 lr tracer.I always wanted to try them but i can never find anymore so i am reluctant to shoot them.

Maybe YOU should search around a little bit instead of passing around mis-information. Perfectly legal, not always allowed at some ranges.

Hey, I clearly stated that I THOUGHT it was illegal, and to NOT take my word for it.

I also don't feel like looking for the answer of every questions asked on every forums... I simply tried to help the guy from what I could remember, but I was confident that someone else would eventually chime in.
After reading other posts, I realized that what I remembered was related to what redleg said: They aren't approved for commercial sales.

I was proved wrong, and that's perfectly alright. That's what discussion forums are, aren't they?

So, what is YOUR purpose for posting?

Alright, then. I guess many can appreciate the fact that you can answer many questions without any doubts and never being wrong.

For my part, I may not have that much knowledge, but I will continue to express my thoughts (yes, by writing "I think...". Because they are thoughts. They do represent incertitude.).

And I sure hope that I won't be blamed each time by someone with more knowledge, that could simply put me back on the tracks by replying correctly to the original question instead of bashing me. :)

just in a process of loading 94 tracer for my 308 win. bought them on EE. for the range i can't speak for all province but i know that all the range that are under the quebec federation are not allowed. the stipulation in there law is as follow. to risky to cause a fire. i would think that shooter s would not think of using them on a very dry day when the grass turn yelow.but i have been proven wrong before.Has for Cabelas it never open in Montreal, but they bought SIR mailorder. so you can always try there.Good luck.

Don't be silly! If I was bashing, I would have mentioned how this exact subject was covered during the PAL course. Now THAT would be bashing......;):)
