Tracer rounds for 303?

Check your local gunshows. I don't believe new importation is allowed, but you might find a little vintage ammo kicking around. I wouldn't expect to find large amounts. The old man still has seven rounds of the stuff left from back when that sort of thing was OK.

Someone mentioned that there may be some movement coming on this legality issue that is confusing everyone. FYI tracers still show up at the gun shows and that's where you might find some.

The .303 isn't a .30 calibre for one. It's a .31 calibre. Uses a .311" bullet. Your rifle may or may not have a .311" barrel anyway. Either way you will not find tracer bullets as components. Tracer ammo is collector grade stuff these days and therefore gets very expensive.
Trace cannot be imported by the EA. Having or shooting 'em is not illegal though.

Yes, they are illegal under the Explosives Act. Unenforced and no one seems to care however. If I found some at a gun show I'd probably buy them myself. ;)

I've been reading the new Explosives Regulations and we may now have a reprieve. I have yet to confirm with a senior inspector.

Yup fingers crossed^

.310 tracers pulled from 7.62x39 should work OK in a .303 I have seen some for sale not too long ago. Component tracer projectiles still show up now and again at gun shows or the EE but not as often as they use to.

I have a ton of .311 tracer bullets that I can't get to ignite, i can ignite them with a propane torch but can't seem to figure out a load they will work with,

If you can't ignite them with a propane torch then I think they're pooched!
From what I understand you need a fairly hot load, nothing subsonic :) , and they won't ignite till they're about 100 yards downrange so if you're shooting at 50 yards expecting to see something ......... that could be a problem!
