I know of the existance of a Walther P38 "bring Back" which may have an intersting history. My father-in-law was in the Canadian army Military Police Special Investigations branch (Not sure if there was a SIB). He claimed he was involved in the arrest and detention of SS General Kurt Meyer. He showed me what he claimed was Meyer's personal sidearm a P38 in what looked like VG condition IIRC some 20 years ago.
In my curiosity I came upon a website that showed German officers" "Soldbuch" and therin was a page which shows the S/N of the firearm issued to said officer. Well, unfortunately I also read that Meyer destroyed his soldbuch before capture since SS prisoners were "severely" treated by all parties.
.

If pic shows up you can see where this soldier (not officer) had been issued a 98k and then a Gw44 ...(nice S/n on the 44)

Do I have a chance at getting to the bottom of this.............or just treat it as a "war story"? ( it may take some time to get pics)
