K, i know this isnt bownutz but id rather start my search among a group i know has all kinds of experience. Ive been compound bow hunting for a couple years now. I enjoy the speed and acuracy i get outta my DXT.........and though i probably cant afford it; i am intrigued by the simplicity of taking game with a stick and string. No sights, cams, rests or releases. Ive all but commited to buying a bear grizzly caus their fairly cheap, pretty, and ive heard good things. will i need expensive wooden arrows with feathers instead of vanes? Dont most trad guys shoot two blade broadheads, aside from the added challenge and beauty of the bow......is it gonna be worth buyin a whole new setup? Any thoughts?

You can shoot what ever you want to. Part of being a traditionalist is building your own arrows out of blank cedar shafts. Diipping, cresting, fletching....all good fun.
Last time I checked they weren't exactly exspensive. Cheaper than most carbon offerings anyways. You can even chop your own feathers if you go real hard core.
I have shot 2117 XX75's, with 4 inch feathers out of both my long bows and they work fine. There are even large diameter carbon arrows for traditional shooters.
There is nothing unique about 2 blade broadheads and traditional equipment. Most of the designs are cut-on-impact, 2 blades like Zwickeys and Journeyman and they are all resharpenable (likely why many trads use them). Most traditional set ups shoot heavy arrows at slower velocities and cut on impact heads are desirable. However if you are shooting decent poundage (55-65 pounds), there is no reason you couldn't screw in a good quality fixed 3 or 4 blade broadhead into an aluminum arrow and shoot it out of a recurve or longbow. You are likely going to do a lot of practicing with broadheads and a simple resharpenable (is that a word???) design like a Journeyman is perfect for that.
Lots of customer bowyers in Alberta. A Bear would be a good starter bow, but if you get hooked....well you will be buying a custom bow.
