Well I just recieved a rifle from Trade- ex.
It's a 30-06 in the Husqvarna 1600 model. It came very well packaged, and arrived in 3 days to Alberta. Reading all the post's on this site, and all the great reviews. I thought I'd give them a try, and I'm glad I did! very helpful in picking out the best rifle for me.They sure are nice rifle"s, with the old world craftmenship. O ya I did a search on the year it was made, and turns out it was made on the same year I was born, go figure. :) Now to find a nice scope to put on it. Thanks Again to the guys at Trade Ex.

Watch out for them Swedes once you get one you're hooked, especially with Trade Ex around. Just picked up my third HVA today,a very nice model 46 in 9.3x57. It came with a traveling partner,an equally nice CG in 6.5x55. They both were wearing peep sights too I might add. Now to just wait for the ammo to come in.

Tony and Anthony are among the best as far as quality service goes. We are very fortunate to have them! So far I have been resisting temptation to get another Husky. Having an empty gun fund helps....... but I don't know how long I will be able to hold out.
In case you did not know there are some very knowledgeable folks at the gunboards.com for the Swede rifles although Baribal is here and I have yet to see him get stumped. They have a great list of scope mount part numbers there too.

Have dealt with Tony since the 80's when he was with Century International and was a great guy to deal with then.

Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them ever.

Thanks for this post. I have always wondered about the quality of Husqvarna guns. I may have to check them out.

Never wonder about the quality of the gun, just the quality of the previous owner. ;) All four of mine have been great shooters.

Beauty rifle!!! What's the overall weight like? And how do you find the trigger? How do you guys feel the 1600's would stabilize the heavier bullets in a 30-06? Can you tell I'm in the market for one:D?LOL Congratz again on the rifle!

I weighed mine and it came in at 6.86 pounds, trigger is great, these must have short throat as I had some rounds made for my Remington and there was no way they would fit ( to Long) I dont know with the 1-12 twist will do with heavy bullets? will have to see! :)

Is that a 1600 action or a 98 action? Safety looks 98. On second look thats an F/N 98 action. Or have I been away from rifles for so long I forget?

Nope it's not a HVA Improved Mauser Action, that's for sure. I'd say a late FN (H) action.

You got it Pontiac. ;) DOM 1956.:)
Trigger is a bit stiff and just a little spring to it but nothing like the usual Mauser milsurp stuff. It is single stage also. Weighed on this Deluxe must be Seven and three quarter pounds.

I took it out tonight in hope to nail a bear using some 200gr Dominion KKSP`s but no dice. Bears were all too scared to come out. Maybe this weekend if the Elk don`t show. She`s looking for her first kill notch.:runaway:

As to the question about shooting the heavy stuff this one put the 200`s into an inch and a half with the very first load. With a little testing I expect it could cut that by half. My other two 06`s both shot around the 1`mark. Had I a scope on my old 146 in 9,3mm I bet it would have too. With irons I averaged one and a half to one and three quarter groups.
