Trade Ex

I found Tradeex's website more user friendly than marstar. My one pet peeve with Marstar (and there are quite a few) is the fact that they do not clean off their used milsurp page. I would say about 80-85% of all the rifles listed are sold and they will not clean it off. Some sold rifles have been on there for a year or more since I started checking their website a year ago. Its just an absolute turn off for me in viewing their pages.

Did I forget to mention the lack of a real side menu ?

And lack of competitive pricing ? I mean, who wants to spend $1000 w/ tax on a Gewehr 88 that has been Turked and mis-matched when you can find them on CGN for $350 shipped to you by a fellow CGNer.

Oh well, just my two cents going down the drain again.
 
I'm another happy Tradeex customer, having purchased a selection of firearms, reloading components and accessories from them. They are very good in their descriptions of their guns and very patient with customers like myself.

If I understand correctly, the $269 SVT40 that I picked up from Epps last spring was from Tradeex. It was externally in great shape and has a dark bore with strong rifling. The one time I took it to the range I had a problem with the rifle not extracting rounds after firing, but I quickly discovered that my cursory cleaning of the chamber and bore still left much cosmoline in the chamber and flutes for the lacquered ammo to stick to.

Tradeex has provided a great selection of milsurp firearms that I would not have gotten otherwise (K31, P1, Nagant Pistol, SVT40, M44 laminate and M38, etc). Having been spoiled by several sub $100 milsurp purchases about 12-15 years ago I have to admit a habit of hesitating whenever I see a $300-400 milsurp bolt action, but the likelihood of cheap Enfields or Czech Mausers flooding our shores again seems rather remote, and I can appreciate the trouble it takes to bring in many of these rifles.

Other friends and acquaintances of mine that have shopped at Tradeex were very satisfied.

I'm another happy tradeex customer.

He has a great deal on used hks speedloaders for my s&w k frames.$5 each with a haevy leather pouch,ex police issue by the looks of them.

Was hoping to buy a s&w barrel off him, but he was out.

I would definatley want to purchase a rifle or pistol off him in the future.

Must be from Sask-a-bush. I saw many, many people burn a tank of gas and a whole day to save $5. I was in retail at the time and saw it over and over and over. Nothing else to do while the soil is frozen and they can't farm is what I always thought.

And to the Andy thread above, when you say for profit companies like Marstar and the like do more for us gun owners than the rest, etc, again you hit the nail right on the head, and don't you guys forget it. Support our big dealers, they fight for us too you know.

grant580. The name is Drachenblut. I do. I have retracted my statements about Trade-Ex and Marstar. I have no issues with either company and I support them as our Canadian reps. I am probably one of the youngest people on this site in any event. So, money is an issue, of course.

I don't see it as a big deal. I like to see their used rifles that have been sold. They get some interesting stuff sometimes that I miss out on. Although leaving a one off used rifle on there a year or more might be a little much. As far as competitive pricing, perhaps there are examples of overpriced items but that is not the norm.

Anyway, as far as Trade Ex goes, I think they need to tweak their website because when you click on an item and then go back, it takes you to the top of the list instead of where you were just browsing. Small point, but frustrating when you are looking through hundreds of Huskies for example.

I have yet to buy anything from Trade Ex (I've come close and even called them), but I wouldn't hesitate to do so. Marstar on the other hand has gotten me on a number of occasions. I guess it just depends what you are looking for.

Vimy, I hear you about Tradex's website. What I do when I am browsing through their guns is if I find one I want to look at, I just hold down the shift key & click on the picture. This will open a new page with the just the item you wanted to look at. Close the new window when you are done, & return to to your previous browser window at the same place you were. Hope this helps.

I recently ordered a SKS for TradeEx, and was very pleased with the service and the product. Ill order a SVT-40 before weeks end. I've been waiting for a good deal on these rifles, now's my chance.

Although now Ill burn through my humble stash of 54R quicker than I imagined :( More ammo please vendors!
 
My last trade on Marsta

I order a Yugo M48-BO with a special select for 580.00C$. If I was a good to make photos you can see what they send to me. It's my first special select and it's the whorst gun I buy from the last 40 years. The front sight is 1/8 inch off center, the front band look as iron forged whit a mecanist hammer, the firing pin was bended and surprize, under the wood parts full rust. Wow I am so happy...May be it's better do'nt ask a selecy one an may be it's my last one from them.

Within the last 6 months I bought 2 rifles from dealers which I returned (not Marstar or Trade Ex). If you are not happy, return it. I even think that a dealer has to take it back as part of Canadas consumer protection laws. Just return it and don't argue or insult anybody. Read the return policy and procedure carefully before you send it back.
