TradeEx has Russian SKS in stock

For those of you looking for info on the SKS, its variants, mag pinning, the whole story, go to the RED RIFLE section and read Curtton's Sticky at the top about SKS'. It is well worth the read and you will then know what you are looking for. The answers to 99% of the questions in this thread.

I have 5 Ruskie's. 1 is pinned in the mag well (my shooter) and 4 pinned on the follower. 1 has laminate stock and 1 is in a glass show case (unissued, unfired, looks like new) You can find collectors and shooters, unissued and refurbed, read the sticky and you will then know what to look for.

For more knowledgeable answers ask Curtton or Woodbeef.

Pics were all posted in the SKS long thread previously known as the SIR/Frontier SKS thread.

Would love to re post, but hate to take up more space. You will find them some where in the 5000 plus posts. You will also find that most of the collector grade came from Moving Target.
Here is a link to the first three

If you look at the front of the outer magazine shell, you will see a stud, which guides the follower spring. If it is replaced with a slightly longer version, the follower movement is limited. This alteration can be done unobtrusively, without damaging finish or serials.
Another method which I has used is to weld a plate to the side of the inner magazine box. Positive, effective, and externally undetectable.
There are ways of limiting the magazine capacity without doing any external damage or creating cosmetic issues.
It just takes a bit of imagination and gunsmithing skill.

the problem with longer spring idea is it increases the follower arm, making it longer therefore easier to bend.

WOW! This is an even better approach, although it may not be as Permanent as the current methods used now. It this were still allowed by CFC, then definitely better than butchering perfectly good Russian steel.

from what i heard , a few suggestions were rejected by the cfo but finally approved IZH method.

The problem is that all future importations must be pinned off-shore. There's another private one coming in June or July, and it too has been frankenpinned. All things are pointing to the next IZH one landing this way also. I hope not,but it is very doubtful at this point.

Just ordered one from this guy & just from talking to this guy on the phone I feel like I will be ordering alot more goodies from him in the future!
Can't wait...
