From what I see if a 3" can enter (same length than 2 3/4 fired I used), it's UNLIKELY to be a 2 1/2"! Got mine for 130$. Bit of rust, pitting and dust. Gives him charm! Was planning restoring but no more. Maybe just fixing one of the screws but not much!

Check you local Canadian Tire for 16ga. If a rural NL Cdn Tire franchise carries them, the larger stores should as well. I haven't had any trouble purchasing new 16ga Federal shells there for the past 3-4 years. Just picked up four boxes last week. Two each of #4 & #6.
Look for magtech brass 2 1/2 shells. They are easy to reload without presses.
As Vic said, use a punch and mallet to remove and reprime. Load the shell. Hotmelt glue the over shot card in place and you have a completed shell. I load BP in mine. Makes for a stout but very accurate round.
