Tradex has a large selection of Schultz and Larson .22s again...

This is going to be my 5th one of these....you can't buy anything close to this quality new these days for this price. Big solid walnut stock, very heavy barrel, great sights, amazing trigger, and an extremely simple and durable bolt design.

Don't d&t a nice example.... These haven't been made in decades, would ruin the purpose of the rifle. Learn how to shoot with the peep sights, at 50m your groups can be as good as any scoped rifle with practice....

This was number 3...ringed bore, no bolt, basically a parts rifle I picked up and decided to make functional. Weaver bases were used, I use a bolt out of one of the other rifles when I want to shoot it.

Hey Hitzy. Bought one after your prodding. So know where we can find more info? Seen your name at a few other forums on my search for info, but doesn't seem to be all that much with history ,pics, model numbers etc, unless I'm doing something wrong in my search. Mine has the name of Palle Sorensen on the right forestock and some other sticker. I thought my chinese bull barrel was big at .810 of a inch thick. The danish rifle is .923 just in front of the forestock. Talk about heavy metal

S&L M70 is the model with standard trigger, M77 is adjustable trigger, made in Denmark, some info here.

Front sights take standard anschutz inserts, rear peep is an odd threading and I don't remember what it is. I sent one to a fellow in the USA who makes different peep sights for Lyman and Mossberg etc and he made a few up for me with different sized apertures. They are high quality wood and steel rifles with great triggers. Extractor but no ejector, you have to pluck the spent case out.
Last one I got had a sticker from a 2012 match so they still seem to be in use. Headspace is adjusted with shims in front of the bolt handle.
I hope you like it, old world quality you don't see much anymore.

Here the quantities produced of each model:
M70: about 7500
M77: about 3000

S/N range:
M70 No. 17498-24932
M77 No. 24933-27996

Close up of the muzzle and the pressed on style front sight.

Mine just arrived today.
Very nice rifle. A couple of spots of rust on it but they cleaned up with steel wool & oil.
Looking at your serial # listings, mine is in the 149xx range. Any idea what model it would be called?

The stock is more of a sporter stock than the vertical grip of most of the target rifle shown on the previous page. It still has the long, heavy barrel and target sights though. Same stock as #29997 on Tradeex's website

Remember to check your action screws before going out. Both mine were loose. And I got to confirm that my stock is the one that came with the rifle (I hope) as the serial number has been felt penned into the barrel inletted area. My serial # 176xx. Off to work. Later all.
