Tradex has a large selection of Schultz and Larson .22s again...

Can someone please explain the fascination with these rifles?
This is not to be taken the wrong way, the guns do seem interesting.
Curious to find out what is incredible about them.

S&L has a long and interesting history making target rifles for civilian shooters.
You get a heavy walnut bench rest style stock.
You get very good target sights.
You get an excellent 2 stage trigger.
You get a very heavy barreled action with an excellent barrel.
You get a very simple bolt design that is easy to disassemble and maintain.
It's all steel and wood, well made, match grade, simple & durable target rifle will last forever, all for under $300.
It's an incredible bargain if you like high quality accurate .22 bench rest rifles.

Just what Hitzy said. Explains it to a tee. Hard to beat price. Even if I had to clean the years accumulation of dust in the front sight :)

Well,, she finally arrived!
I believe its an older model, not the 70 or 77. Blueing is 99% , stock nice tiger stripe but has some dings, may refinish her,, sights look different,, older style i guess,, with smaller rotating dials for sight adjustment,,no idea what type of trigger yet but wow is it ever light n nice!
Serial is just 4 numbers,,4795 if that helps to guess the model#

Hmm quick research has me thinking its a model 33 based on its serial# and the extractor being on the left side of the bolt

But jeese what a heavy barrel! How many babies,, i mean pounds of steel were sacrificed to make this puppy

I was gonna buy one of those early models today, and one of you bastards bought it before I could add to cart! Changed to sold while I was looking at the pics.
All mine are 70 or 77....

I just ordered another one of these rifles. This time I got one of the ones with a double set trigger and a thumbhole stock to mix it up a bit. From an old brochure I found d on Google, it looks like it's an M61. Here's the one I ordered.

just unpacked my rifle. I've seen used rifles in a better shape, but for a club gun its in a good shape.
Some dings and scrutches on metal and wood, I would say 70-75% condition.
Needs a good cleaning, maybe wood sending and refinishing.
Turned out to be an M77 with 2 stage fully adjustable trigger set at 12 aunces ;) yahooooooo

Heeeaaavy, very heavy rifle ;) now need to find time and visit the range.

Some surprises there if you look close....this one is a 33 in the updated 70 stock. You can see the extractor is on the left side, and it has the dovetail front sight but updated 70 rear sight.
