Hi!
Been trying to find this pistol in Canada for a week now and have had no luck, US wont ship to Canada so Im wondering what the problem is, No call for them ??
E-mailed several distributors in Canada and no one has replied.
Thanks!

Prophet River imports firearms, or maybe Irunguns could do something for you. There's a place in Sask. that I forget the name (maybe Norfolk? Hillfolk?) musket supplies. They could order me a BP rifle that was unobtainium in Canada, it just cost more.

Very very small market in Canada for a flint pistol - simple as that. The market for percussion pistols is small too but within the BP community they both are around - just have to find one so be patient and keep your EE ad up on CGN.

I believe that the lack of flintlock pistols for sale is what you might call a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Few people seem to express an interest in them, so the distributors and dealers simply conclude that there is no interest in them.

However, if nobody ever sees any for sale, how could they actually know that there is no interest in them?

Out of sight, out of mind, as they say.

Also, welcome to Canada. Despite the large land mass, it's a small population and a small gun market compared to the U.S.A.

Distributors and dealers really don't want to bother with a small niche market within an already small gun market.

You only need to compare the Canadian versions of Cabela's and Bass-Pro to their parent American companies to confirm this.

Their firearms offerings in Canada are a very pale, bland, and watered-down selection of their American offerings.

As far as I know, muzzle-loaders/black powder guns are exempt from ITAR, so if you find a small gunshop that has one, they should be able to ship it to you. I guess that as soon as you get it, you'll have to call the CFC to register it? Flinchlock long guns are not "regulated", but unless things have changed since I had them, handguns are considered restricted.

nobody will ship a kit?
Nope :( Would love the kit. https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/pistols/pistol-kits/traditions-trapper-pistol-kit-flintlock.html
Ive had a restricted lichens since about 82 so no problem their. Guess will have to just wait and be patient.
I e-mailed http://www.militaryheritage.com today so see what they say, hope they reply, they have some nice stuff on their site.
Yup seams like Canada has been cut off in some respects, im surprised I don't even get replies to most stores, poor customer service. Looks like the pistols are soon extinct, some sites in the states are out of stock. I know a guy with a Percussion trapper but I think the sparks are more fun :)
Thanks!!

(I even e-mailed http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca and have had no reply from them lol)

If you are prepared to build a flint pistol then you can get all the parts you need from Track of the Wolf - lock, stock and barrel, etc. They don't offer a kit as such but all the parts are available and they can ship the parts to Canada no problems. I have done it several times in the past 5 years to build my own. The assembled gun will be restricted so you must have your RPAL. Start the registration process a month or so before it is ready to shoot so you get the registration about the time you are ready to shoot it. It will be classified as "Home Made" and they will want to know what company made the barrel, what caliber and barrel length but that is about all.

Ive had a restricted license since about 82 so no problem.
I thought the kit version would be easier but not so fart, so individual pieces. So you talking generic Flintlock? so not a trapper, looking on their site they have four barrels, barrel, .50 caliber, 7/8" octagon, 10", 1-20" twist, 1.3 lb, crowned, 5/8-18 thread, by Green Mountain Barrel Company AND its the only one out of stock lol.
I sent them an E-mail so see what they say.
Thanks!

I don't know what question you asked but Track sure does carry many different styles of flint locks and all the other parts to build flint pistols and rifles - just look at their online catalogue. And they can ship any of it to Canada as I buy several grand worth of their stuff every year. WGP does not carry any parts for M/L.

Ooops, that was the Gun Vault, Ive sent allot of e-mails, it got messy. Waiting to hear back from Track and Wolf on the Pedersoli, going to get it, still want the trapper :)

Merica ?? Besides being a genus of sea snails, dont know what that is, only thing search engine shows is a real estate Agent lol :)
Thanks!

Just in case thats short for America, I checked Montana outlets and non in stock, not to mention allot of Gass/Mileage for a $300us gun :)
Thanks!

Yeah, I did mean the United States. Cabelas in Kalispell, Missoula or Billings, if they don't have it in stock, you can get one shipped to the store ahead of time for free. Also there is a ton of gun stores in MT, if you check the Traditions website you can see at the dealers in the state.

I checked the dealers they have listed, only Montana, out of stock. Something to think of if I go down their on a Photo trip.
Thanks!

Try deer creek products in waldron indiana. I checked their websight and they have a trapper flintlock pistol kit . I believe it was $359.
