I think what he was getting at was that when you said GEAN pool, it was humorous, as the proper spelling would ahve been GENE pool..

When you mispelled GENE, the joke was "how can a guy that doesn't even know how to spell GENE, comment on how good it is to take some else out of the GEAN pool."
