That's quite a range of other powders they mention, exactly none of which I've ever seen in Canada, so all I can do is cheer for Trail Boss.

I learned recently that ADI manufactures a lot of the powders for Hodgdon. So could see some harder to find powders be re stocked. Some of those powders could be sold under a different name here in North America.

My spy in Australia tells me TB appeared in the gun store he patronizes and a shipment went to New Zealand.
Brownell's tells me they are aware, but don't have an ETA for it in the US.
God knows when we'll see any here.
At least until after October 2025.

Cold Lake Kid: Well....at least we'll have some hope of seeing TB on Canadian shelves, sometime in the foreseeable future. A faint hope...but, better than none at all. As for me, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for Clays, too.
Will give Perfect Pattern a try, in the near future. That powder seems to offer good performance...especially in shotgun. Might be a good choice for cowboy action. Pistol too...maybe. Seems to be readily available, too.

Trail Boss is what started me into the whole reduced load. Since its shortage few years ago I've found I can substitute it with just about any pistol powder. Usually 7-8gr is a very safe starting point from a 308 sized case. Now I don't see a need for trail boss anymore.

I liked TB for Cowboy Action Shooting, in my .45 Colt SAAs and my .45 Colt 1873 rifle, as well as getting great results in my .45-70's
It appears however that there may be a formulation change, due to the Aussies adopting the EU rules concerning one of the components used in the manufacture of Trail Boss.

old303: "New Coke" .....great analogy. I'd hope that the change doesn't cause TB to stray too far from it's original performance/pressure characteristics. Or, take away it's chief advantage....the allowance of of very low powder charges, yet... still bulky enough to fill up cases. I find it a pretty versatile powder, too.

I love TrailBoss for my rifles. When it became hard to find, I was able to pick up some Unique and Red Dot. All three are, for me, good in my WWI and WWII bolt action rifles for reduced loads. The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook has reduced loads (as does the regular Lyman manual).

YMMV

Sadly remembering that Unique and Red Dot were still available for awhile after Trail Boss. Will anything of that general type of powder ever reappear? Currently subsisting on WST.

I am also a fan of both Red Dot and Unique/Universal. I prefer either of the latter two powders (essentially the same) in many shotgun hunting loads (1 1/8 oz, in particular). Unique has always been a staple for many years. Good in many handgun loads, too. Always a good choice, in .45 Colt and other medium pistol cases. Though I tend to use a lot more Universal, as it was often more available than Unique. While still offering the same performance. I am hoping to see more of these powders return to the shelves, too. Also Clays, and Bullseye.

I just had a look at the offerings on Hodgdon's website and noticed the US prices.
I was thinking about finding some VARGET and saw the US price: $64.99 (US$$) for a pound.

I had a word from Hodgdon, who advised they did not yet have an ETA for Trail Boss in the USA, but were trying.
No idea when we might see it in Canada.
It was mentioned that there was a change in formulation due to Australia's adoption of EU rules on one of the components chemicals used in the production of TB.
