I've had good success with 6 grs of Trail Boss in .45 LC and 250 gr bullets.
I don't like it in .38 Spl. or 44-40 (that is to say, my guns don't like it).

I recently loaded 4.7 grs TB in some Dominion .455 brass with a 230 gr bullet. This puts the base of the bullet in contact with the powder charge. A full 5 grs would give slight compression, but I'll try that with solid head, cut down .45 LC Brass.

I would be interested to know how your 455/Trailboss loads worked? What are you shooting these in? I have a Colt New Service in 455 Eley and am always interested in the various loads for these cartridges. KD

I've got a Second Model Hand Ejector in 455 as well. I'm interested in hearing how Trailboss works for it. I don't shoot it much because of the price of the Fiocchi ammo, not to menion that it's tough to find up here at the Northmart!

TB in .455

Sorry guys, I forgot to report on the results ....

I'd rate accuracy with TB in my .455 MKVI (1924 Enfield) as excellent. It will be my powder of choice for .455 from now on, in the 'long' cases.

I don't think you'd be able to get enough TB in short cases to be useful.
