Good camera and very good pictures. It only works with Rogers right now, but I hear they have a camera coming in early 2012 that will work with any 3G net work (Bell, Telus, Koodo). You need a SIM card for the cellular function to work, this will cost you $10-$30 plus there may be an activation fee-or not, depends on your provider. Then you will need just a text messaging plan, normally you can piggy back this on your current plan. Remember, this essentially turns the camera into a phone, at least in the eyes of Rogers it does. And last but not least, you need cell coverage where the camera is to be located in the bush. I really like the concept, but I am with Bell so I will wait for the 3G phone next year. I think that if you were to go into a known buck bedding area and set up the camera with a really good set of batteries, you could get pictures almost year round of some good bucks.

I wanna know does it send the as txt pictures or does it fall under the data plan. It would add up if it were pictures being sent via texting

I'm assuming you can set it up on your computer to be able to chose between the MMS, SMS, or Email. Picture messages dont use data, its billed as a MMS. Since it uses a gsm transmitter it should work with Fido aswell which might be a cheaper option for a smaller plan... or even cheaper with speakout 7-11 which is also a piggy backer but you prob wont get the data plan to work if you want the pics emailed. For the price its actually not that bad but you're looking at monthly fees for a plan. I could definitely see this being an awesome feature for a deer camp up north where you might just barely have cell signal. Set them up in the spring and forget about the big drive. Buy like 5 of these cams and set them all up on a big voice/txt family plan from rogers lol. Sims are only 10 bucks a piece.

If you have the money the skys the limit.

Did some more research into these. I'm about 90% sure I'll actually buy one or two for next season. If you look online you can get these models from $250ish. If you set them up on a Rogers PAYGO or FIDO account you're looking at $10/month for a data plan which isn't bad. So a yearly cost of $70 for a June-Dec season but you're likely to save that much money on gas alone from having to drive to your location to check your cams. Also you dont have to disturb the area and get your scent on anything which is another plus. And when you're having a crap day at work and you get an email with a big buck walking infront of your camera you have something to look forward to on the weekend. I just wouldn't want to set this thing up in a field and have a piece of grass blowing in front of it for a week while you got hundreds of text messages to your phone at all hours of the day.

I have been looking for a solution that will email me security pics of the cottage - this just may be it.

Just have to build a fake birdhouse or something to house the thing. I hope they bring out a model that has black or invisible IR lights instead of red.
