My trail cam was near the back of my property and picked this up...

At first I thought it was a coyote but after I uploaded it to my PC and got a good look, appears to be a wolf??? It's pretty big, nice coat, and the small ears make me think that.

Opinions??

Also, this was the last pic on my camera as it was knocked over into the water by a snow groomer. The snow mobile club uses my property.

The ears really through me off. I have lots of coyotes around. even had them follow me, my daughter, my mom, and wife around one day. I was armed but they were on the neighbors property. Shot one earlier this year, it was really big and a lot of red on the coat. It killed 6 baby geese near my pond, just killing for sport I guess, snapped their neck and moved onto the next one, at 1130 in the morning.

Really need to see the face to be sure, But looking like coyote to me. A big furred up one at that.....

Just doesn't have the leg length and looks to have that coyote pattern in its fur...

Check out 'Coywolf' ..I saw a Nature of Things episode on them and about how they are more prevalent then coyotes around urban areas/people etc.. I guess they used to think they were very rare but recent data suggests they are highly prevalent - the show discussed Ontario and Alberta among other areas..I've seen them here and are distinguishable from 'normal' coyotes. ...I'm no expert but after watching that documentary I found it fascinating how you can see the difference between them. ..they are like a slightly bigger, shorter legged thicker coat coyote lol ..not saying you have that here but look into it and keep your cam on to see if you can get a better pic - just my 2cents
