Trail camera up today!

So, much to my wife's pleasure, I used some of HER money, and went out and bought a trail cam. Nothing fancy, but I had been talking to her about it, and had to go into the Outfitters anyways.... And Lo and behold! It's on sale!

I picked up the Bushnell trail sentry, 4.0MP model. As I said, nothing fancy, but meh... Bought a salt lick, and put it up down a ways from the bedding area I found, and aimed the camera at it. I'll give it a week and go check it, hopefully I'll get something good!

Also been pissing her off w/ one of those female deer calls (the can ones) LOL its pretty funny.

Anyways, just wanted to share some of my excitement... Can't wait!

Trail cams are a lot of fun. I figure if I time it just right, I may be able to get my shot on my deer on video, using my trail cam.

Just put my new Moultrie 5.0 out this aft...looking for bears at my bait stn. Don't know whether it works or not.Stood in front waving my arms. didn't flash too bright out and couldn't hear a click which you probably don't with these new units.Guess I'll find out on Wednesday. I know the laser and the infrred work so it should work on auto...Ibought mine on the QT..wife doesn't know yet..but she's buying me a tree stand for my birthday.

I've put mine last week and when I went to check it, there were about 12 pics but... I forgot to put the flash on , all pics were from 10.20pm to 1.30am, at least I have the time they were passing, just a bit late.

It's my first one so I guess it will take a couple of tries to get it right.

My buddy had a bear on his from 20ft, then from 10ft then the face right on it, then some pics on the ground lolll, the bear took it off the tree and dragged it on the ground. He found it about 10yds from where it was setup. The mem card was intact and only the front cover was broken, still works. lolll we had a good laugh about it

They sure are lots of fun.

I had a bear give mine a swat to......didn't hurt anything thankfully. I have a Moultrie 4.0 with the flash, just the basic camera but it takes very nice pics and has worked flawlessly for two years now. When it come right down to it, I would say it's my favorite piece of hunting equipment. It has taken over 1000 pics of deer, bear, moose, etc in the last two years. Once you get on to it, you'll have a blast with it

Your lucky. Last year when mine was new, I put it up and the first pic was just hair. The bear came up from the side of the camera only setting it off when he was right on top of it. He must have wacked it pretty good because after that the sensor that picks up movement broke.

Bears can really mess up a camera.

i bought one in july, and have had it up for about a month and a half now. the spot i hunt id a 1/4 section of alfalfa with 400 yards of heavy brush and a creek bed between the next 1/4. lots of does a spikers always coming out in the evening, but we'd never seen anything big, antlerwise. so i set the camera up way back in the thick stuff, on a choke point in the trail and this happened along.

hmmmmm.....not a monster, but the best i've seen out there in all my time hunting. gonna sit just of that trail from sun up to sun down. too bad i didn't get my archery rig tuned in time for this year, have to use the muzzle loader or the 6.5x54

The first little but my camera didnt catch nadda now its weekly. last two weeks have been slow though. Only coons and last week my camera died hehe

Went and checked it today.... It's only been up since monday, got psyched when I saw it had 20 pics on it.... Too bad they were all of the trees... I thought the PIR would filter that stuff out... Oh well, we'll see what it shows next week.
