Trail Cams...How often do you check them.

For those that use Trail Cameras to pre-scout an area, how often do you check them? Now distance is a major factor as well... so lets say only for those cameras that are within 2 hours of drive time.

For us unfortunate hunters that have Bushnell trail cams...you will have to add another choice to the poll. "after it rains" cause the battery compartments fill up like a canteen!!!!

I check mine once a week or once every two weeks.

longest I've let it out there before retrieving my sd card (2gb) was three weeks, when I went to retrieve it I had over 1600 pictures!

I just installed mine today ....... 1.5 hrs away, so probably will not ck it for 3 weeks.

I have a couple of StealthCams that use 35mm film. I check them every Sunday after a gopher shoot or other range session.

Now that I think of it I might go next week- end just to see if its working and if I actually aimed it correctly. I guess I should have read the instructions before setting it up

I used the laser to make sure I was aiming it in the right general direction, but does that mean the deer has to actual hit that exact spot to set the camera off ??? or can it also detect animals coming from the sides ??
