I took Boone out at 5 am for his first go at live birds. He was far from perfect but he found the bird and with encouragement steadied up and let me flush it and fire a starting pistol. Next time I will leave the bird a bit visible so he can confirm his nose with his eyes.

If you look real close you can see him searching for the bird. He's small so the grass hides him.

Righ on bud. Always fun to get out with the dog.
Took my dog out with me this morning on a hike.
Came across 2 groups of a momma grouse and her babies
Also walked up on a small black bear 15yrds before the dog was first to notice it and put the run on it.
Got my heart pumping.

Nothing quite so scary here just mosquitoes the size of sparrows.
