Training in Alberta?

Hello Everyone

I'am looking on improving my basic handgun skills, my shooting accuracy at the gun range and also a holster training course.

But I can not find any Defensive Handgun Level 1 courses that are local to me.

I live West of Edmonton and Spruce Grove would be the closest city near me. But would be o.k. with going as far as Sherwood Park for 2 day's of training if I had to.

I'am a outdoorsman, looking to broaden my skills as a target shooter. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Thk

I'd highly recommend Phase Line Green's 2 day Basic Handgun course - it's a Larry Vickers certified course and Earl is the only Vickers Shooting Method instructor outside the US. He's also a great teacher, and good guy.

Grande Prairie and Peace River are bringing in Phaseline Green Tactical.

This here, except there is no basic course this year in Peace River but there is in Grande Prairie. If your signing up you better sign up for advanced as well or you will kick yourself later.

What a great way to spend 4 days - I've taken both of those separately, but taking them stacked like that would be awesome.

I have been to Peace River for the last 4 years in a row taking courses stacked like that. I haul the holiday trailer up and camp right on the range. BBQ everyday for lunch. Sit around the campfire after the course cleaning guns and shooting the $hit. Steveo and ACC are 2 FANTASTIC hosts!!! I'm looking forward to going again this year.

Yep get in your car and drive! Old Soup Sammich drove from Flin Flon Manitoba to the Peace River courses last year. Earl at Phaseline Green is an outstanding instr. I took last years pistol and carbine at Peace and this year my wife is doing the ladies course and me the 2 day after. Not to mention Earl is a great guy to shoot the #### with. The guys from Peace River are top notch too!! Steveo and ACC run a tight ship. I highly reccomend it!!

Too bad outdoor gun club's around the Greater Edmonton Area do not have any courses available, or bring in Phaseline Green Tactical for a few dates. I know a few guys in my area that would be interested in taking the Level I and Level II handgun course. Not everyone can travel for 4 days in September to Grand Prairie or Peace River, I have prior commitment's on those days so I'm out, sorry.

Then be the class host and organize it yourself.

It's not the clubs that bring in the instructors, it's members at the clubs.
