transfer advice please

ok, so I purchased 5 restricted hand guns from a widow friend. I helped her fill in and provide all the forma/info re the estate and executer. Sent in the4 forms to the address provided. Waited two weeks for the registry to receive them. When i started the transfer I was told that her info was not in the system yet but they had received it. called 3 weeks later with the ref # and still not entered into the system -- it now has been 6 weeks -- tried to get thru today but couldn't --- is this the norm?

Had this happen about 2 years ago. CFC can be very had to deal with regarding estates ( ie: none of the relatives have the appropriate licenses ).

I had the estate transfer the guns to a local dealer on consignment, paid the dealer the $ 25 each to run the transfer, and poof problem solved.

Otherwise you'll just have to keep dialing and waiting until you get through to find out what the blockage is and try to remedy it.
