I am waiting for one to be approved by the CFO, it's been 3 days now, it was taking me 1 day to get them done.
Anyone else experiencing delays with transfers? They said to me, it will take 5-10 days and the fact that was taking 1 day is not something normal.... Aren't they amazing? so someone was doing a great job, but hey, that is not normal...

What a bunch of ######s! I can't believe they are getting paid to give an answer like that.

You should be happy. Sometimes in BC we wait 1 month to 2 months to gets ours done. 5 to 10 days would ne great.

I'm assuming that this is a private transfer. All mine have been transferred from my local shop. The first took three weeks, and the other three have taken one day each. The last was transferred on the first of this month. I have been fortunate. Perhaps the next will break that streak?

yes it is private, It seems like hit and miss. Not a big deal for 10 days really, what I do not understand is what makes the tansfer times vary (all my other private transfers took 1 day)

One week and counting for Ontario CFO to okay a person to person transfer. CFC is quick , efficient and quite pleasant. On completing the transfer I got, 'that's great sir, everything we need. I'll get this sent off to your CFO right away. Have yourself a great day!' Ontario CFO knows how to give the dog a right-honest 'Rogering'! Dealer transfers usually one day, person to person.....forget about it. No e-mail address either. Lazy buggers should be shown the door.

It seems that transfers are going well. All last 3 I have done last month too approx 3-4 days. That is acceptable/decent for private sales.
I just bought another pistol, this time from a store in BC. Let's see how long that takes.

I remember when it used to take several weeks. 2 months was not out of the norm in Ontario.
My last private restricted transfer (2-way trade last month) was approved in one day. We both had our HG's in our hands (with shipping time) in 3 days!
The stars must have been all aligned that week:)

recently had a dealer transfer go in 1 Day. private however takes much longer. a few months ago i had a private transfer take like 5 weeks

I bought 2 handguns from a friend and the private transfer was started last Monday (we're both in Ontario). This past Monday after work I found the transfer notifications and STATT in the mailbox when I got home. Not counting the weekend and mailing time, I would guess it was only 3-4 days start to finish.

I've had the last 5 of private sales (inter-provincial to BC) take between 1 and 3 days. Much better than the 6-8 weeks that it was taking the last couple of years and even right up to March of this year.

The actual transfer didn't take long, the notification of transfer for buyer didn't take long, but it has been 2 weeks and I still haven't got my registration paper. I wonder if it's lost in mail?

For me, transfers from a dealer took a couple of days.... my purchase from private sale took well over a month...but I am in B.C.

My last pistol ( 2 days ago) was about took about 25 mins from the time I said Id take it. Walked out of the shop with a new pistol, total time maybe 40 mins. Love how they do it here in Sask.
