Transfer times in Alberta

I had a restricted approved, Ordered May 30, received june 1, and the CFO sent me the transfer notification yesterday. On it says received June 1

Trying to start a transfer this morning, but having a hard time getting through due to call volume.
Anyone have any timeline how long it takes to get through or what time is best to call to initiate transfer

bought mine on the 31st and came through this morning bright and early (June 7th).
I imagine the place I bought from probably put through the request at the end of day 31 or the beginning of June 1st.
usually, Alberta CFO is 1-2 days but looks like now they are running around 4 days due to the massive influx of purchases.
That's business days of course, don't count weekends, we are talking about the government you know.

I'm in Ontario, did online purchase for a restricted from AB on June 3, had transfer completed June 7.
They told me it's much faster if you have an Individual Web Services account and email registered with the RCMP because they do it all online instead of having to call it in. I still have my account active because it's how I received my RPAL a couple years ago.

Was this a business you bought from? I have this for years and still takes at least a month. Ontario as well.

No way. Doesn't matter where you purchase from, if you are in Ontario it has to be approved by the Ontario CFO. They were taking a month to approve transfers before this debacle. Maybe the stars aligned just right, you stood on one leg and farted, coughed and sneezed at the exact same time. For everyone else in Ontario reading this, you'll have a better chance of getting hit by lightning twice on the same day before getting your transfer completed like this guy said he did so soon.

Sorry you don't believe me, esp since I have nothing to gain by not being truthful, I was just sharing my experience. Maybe I was lucky, I have no rhyme or reason why it was so fast. Makes me sorry I reply to posts, get crapped on for no reason.

Bricks and mortar store, purchased online. I posted in another thread that I didn't have to provide a scan copy of my RPAL or DL or anything to complete the purchase, just typed in my license number on the online order form. Which was a first for me. So I hesitate to call out the retailer in case they F'ed up.

Complete bs and make-up story.

No matter where you buy from (either AB or BC), whom you buy from (private or business), all it matters is the recipient's province. You are in ON, all going to ON CFO to approve, which took 1 month before and now probably takes 3 months the best I guess. Speaking by my experience of more than 20 restricted buy and sell, both private and business across 3 difference provinces over last one year period.

Stop making up this kind of story to make yourself look good, that is what you gain or intend to gain.

Oh, by the way, Biden called me last night asking my opinion how to defeat Trump in 2 years. I turned him away because I was too busy calling CFO-ON to initiate transfers. I have no reason to lie since I have nothing to gain by not being truthful.

You must be a blast at parties, a real people person.
I have 600+ posts here and made sales and purchases here on the EE and have never been called out as a liar.
But the general attitude is why I seldom post anymore.
Have a good one.

Possibly a fluke, anyways you're pretty lucky to get it approved so fast, my guess is I'm waiting like the other poster said maybe 3 months, the wait is worth it.

June 1 bought a Glock 22, transfer started Jun 3rd, no further word yet.
June 4 Sig P320 M17, transfer started June 7th.
June 1 Glock 19x with a threaded barrel ordered from IRG, already paid up and awaiting export to Canada, fingers crossed it gets here in time.

Update: I guess the transfer was initiated on the 1st. Transfer went through a couple hours ago. Now the waiting game to get it shipped to me. CFO office actually apologized in the email they sent on how long it took to get it approved.

Update: Just received the shipping confirmation on the June 4th purchase, never received the transfer notice on my end. Haven’t heard anything on my June 1 purchase though, thinking something was wrong with the transfer submission.

Edit: Apparently mistake made with sending shipping details, neither transfer has gone through yet.
