Transfer times in Alberta

Ok so I got through today and using a little sugar instead of salt I got my final two transfers approved right on the phone. The lady essentially said if they are 3-4 weeks old when you call in they will do them right on the phone with you (unless there is a problem of course). How I called in. Call 1-800-731-4000 then hit 1 then 1 then dial ext 9026 and that will put you right to the Chief Firearms Office. If you don’t get through on your first call keep calling back as fast as you can. I think the most I’ve had to dial was 5 times to finally get through and put on hold. I was on and off the call today in under 15 mins.

Good luck all.

I think that's fair. Wait your 3-4 weeks before calling. I just recently ordered and wont even attempt to jam up their ab lines until I hit the 4-5 week mark.

I finally lost patience and called in yesterday about 3 transfers I initiated between 8th and 11th of June. I got through to CFO on about the 8th try, on hold for 25 minutes, then spoke with a very polite and helpful young man. 10 minutes wait while he looked them up and emailed me approvals while we were on the phone. What a pain in the arse, compared to pre ban wait of 24 hours or less.

Just received an "approved you can go pick-up your FA" transfer notification via email from the CFOs office, about 4 weeks wait on this one but didn't call or speak to them.

Now its off to the store.

I don't think they are emailing the retailer as I contacted them letting them know I was coming up later this week and they said they hadn't received the notification and to bring it.

I got a transfer email on Friday, that was 10 weeks for that one. but no logic whatsoever as it's not even the oldest purchase...I talked with the ALBERTA CFO in person at Phoenix range customer appreciation day on Saturday. We are extremely fortunate to have an exceptional CFO representing Alberta. She has impressive credentials, loves the firearm community and is an avid collector, and is the only voice of reason I have seen in that office for a long time. I asked her about the transfer situation and they are doing everything they can and in many ways going above and beyond their duties to help us all. Helpful for us all to remember that. Looking forward to further transfer notifications in the coming days or weeks...

Just got notice emails for two transfers June 7 & 8th.

Edit: Wanted to mention the seller received notification from AB CFO, because they called me before I even noticed my buyer notification email.

Had 4 approved by a really nice lady over the phone. All 4 were purchased at the beginning of June. Figured I waited long enough so after a 45 min wait I got through to someone. Had the emails in my inbox while I was still on the phone with her

Were those private sales or from a storefront? My storefront buy was only 2 weeks ago so I know I still have a wait ahead of me.

Unfortunately, my Glock 17 Gen 5 came in a couple of weeks ago, and was told that my transfer was going to be 2-3 months or a bit longer lmao. I'm in Alberta also. I'm hoping that the transfers get moved a bit quicker but how things are still currently? I'm okay just patiently waiting and checking my email like madness everyday lmao :)
