Transfer times in BC

Also got through this morning after trying for a week. The lady I talked to sounded exhausted.
My July purchase (597###x) was approved but have to wait a bit longer for the August purchase since "it is too soon". I was told they are still working on the transfers from June.
She could not confirm that they would be able to catch up with all the backlog by the end of Aug as one of the member has been told last week. But did say they are trying VERY hard right now.

60,000 transfers! I can believe that, Trudeau is a hellova gun salesman. I wonder how many in the CFO office are working to clear it?
I just called and got my first two of three transfers approved. The first two were a pair of Ruger Wranglers from one of those 2-fer deals a bunch of dealers put on, purchased July 7th. She said she "We are still working on June, so I can only process one transfer", I also made a purchase on July 13, and she said she can't push that one through right now.
Now I've got a question I probably should have asked the lady on the phone, but hopefully you guys will be able to help me: One of these two Wranglers is for a friend. At what point can I start the transfer? Do I need the gun in hand? Gun AND Registration? Thanks!

Thanks for the information update really great to hear
From what I hear and read the person to person transfers go a lot faster I would think start it asap as the jury still seems to be out as to if all transfers will cease once the bill passes or if they will carry on but Im no expert

Ive been wondering that too, as if this goes through the CFO office will have to downsize meaning those folks lose their jobs right?

what exactly did you ask? did you open with asking them to fast track you etc? or...

I just called and was told "we have all your information" and "It will take 8 weeks for the BC CFO to look at it." Wow, that will be MID-OCTOBER! This is for a CZ75 so nothing strange. Private to private. I wonder why some transfers go through and others get to wait?
Yeah, I'll be calling next week to see if I can get the transfer approved for my last one. I'll update here after I call.

wow Im still waiting on a june transfer 595###x and of course Im in bc what is going on with this stuff? if they cut it off on the day of the vote a great many who should have been cleared will be left out
Email. I just replied to an email I received from the CFO regarding another transfer, and I received a reply with my transfer attached shortly after.
No, it was purchased new from one of the dealers. I was shocked to get an email on a restock, even more shocked that I was able to buy it before someone else grabbed it, and again shocked that the transfer was so fast.
I'm going to talk to a friends partner who recently lost her shopify gig and see if she wants to make money calling in transfers for other people that don't work desk jobs....
