Transfer times in BC

I just called and got 2 restricted transfers approved that were submitted June 20. I used extension 9530, was on hold for about 15 minutes before call was answered. Agent was friendly and offered to complete the transfers.

Thanks. Ya the email I received was a scam. Had a link to follow and then enter personal info to login. Will report it if can ever get through to someone. Thx

Huh? When you were on the phone with the agent and she said to open it to verify you got it. Did you? Should be a pdf with your reference number/approval and the name of the agent at the bottom oft the cover letter.

Wasn’t on phone with agent. Have been waiting for email approval for HG transfer/registration. Received what appears to be random email scam with link instead and no attached pdf with ref#/approval as you describe.

Oh no, call 1-800-731-4000, listen through verbal diarrhea, 1 for English 1 for the extension number, punch in 9530, wait for an agent, ask nicely will they complete the transfer. Give nice lady your reference number, they will complete it and send you the approval to your email. You open email while still talking to the agent. Once you are happy, you thank nice lady and hang up. That’s it, capeesh:p.

Can you get the transfer through without a reference number? Surely they can look up the same info using your rpal#? The BC dealer I vought from said they initiated the transfer electronically the same day I bought it but I havemt heard back regarding the transfer#

Dunno, call and ask, let us know:)

Is there a direct e-mail for the BC CFO? I suspect they need updated proof of my range membership.. cant get through on the
phone so maybe e-mail will work..

Wow!.. Just got through to BC CFO, I believe I spoke to Holly, anyway she was incredibly nice and approved my transfer on the spot. Got the confirmation e-mail 15 seconds later and then she told me to buy a lottery ticket. lol

Purchased restricted Aug 3rd, approved Aug 11.. so yeah pretty much like winning the lottery.

Glad it helped. I and many others here have posted many times the benefits of calling in and yet some just choose to sit on their hands instead and complain their transfers haven’t been approved. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, whether it’s “fair” or not. Such is life.

I can confirm you don't need the reference number from the vendor to complete a transfer.

Called 8 times this morning to CFP to BC 1 1 9530 before I finally got in the queue. 25 minutes on hold.

Agent (very nice) completed the transfer and emailed me the paper while I was on the line.

Thanked her very much and asked if they could see the light at the end of the tunnel. She laughed hard and said not even if they had 30 more people in the office doing transfers.

Is there a phone number for the BC CFO's office? I have been waiting a few weeks on a transfer to me in B.C. on a handgun I bought from a business in ON. I called the CFP 1-800-731-4000 number and spoke with someone but all they were able to tell me is that the transfer is awaiting approval with the BC CFO, wasn't given an option to speak with that office directly to try and complete the transfer. If there is a direct line to the BC CFO I'd love to get it.

Is anyone getting “notifications of transfer” for guns they sold? The CFC hasn’t sent mine out and getting them on the phone has been very frustrating, I’m on day three trying. The gun shop that handled the consignment wont pay me until I can show them the transfer notification. Argh!
