Transfer times in BC

I honestly have no idea what the online restricted reference page is for. For me it shows one reference from 2007, and one from 2018.... not any from the restricted's I purchased between those two or since those two....

Ive been wondering too as it does not show any of my transfers which were last week not even an email or note (they direct emailed me the transfers) but they do show the Air Rifles I purchased and they approved the transfers for those. so essentially they show the guns that are not supposed to be on the registry and do not show the guns that are supposed to be. I was wondering if it was just me

If I were you I would call the 9350 number just to verify the transfer has been initiated. You just need to give them your PAL# and they can look it up from there.

its 9530 not 9350 you would probably wait for eternity calling that number ;-)

The thing no one in here tells you or talks about is that once you get approved and you get a tracking number THAT's when the real waiting begins. Every day feels like a month and you cannot jump on here and check to see if your number is getting closer Canada post's tracking consists of someone dropped it off and its been delivered so......... lol it feels like forever..

It gets worst. You may recieved your pistol, but then you need to wait week or two for the registration certificate to arrive so you can take it to the range.

I don’t think that’s true about waiting for the registration certificate. Just print the buyer transfer approval for the new firearms that the CFO should have sent by email and take that with you. That serves as a temporary registration until the card arrives. It has every bit of info they need including registration certificate number. Then once the actual registration certificate shows up. Throw out the one you printed and carry that one.

You sure about that?

The conditions of your ATT indicate that you must be in possession of the Reg cert.

I am waiting for a dealer transfer from BC to BC. 2.5 months and counting. Initiated early July. Been trying the 9530 number almost daily for the last 3 weekd and it aleays hangs up. I tried right at 9am many times but they were immediatley busy. Anyone else here have any luck with first week of July transfers?

Nope I’m not 100% sure. I’ve always been told that serves as a temporary until the actual registration certificate arrives because it has all of the info the registration certificate has including the registration certificate number. I might see if I can call about it tomorrow though because I would like to be sure and now I’m curious if I was told wrong about this.

You might want to research.

Temporary registration to take your pistol from the place of purchase or the post office, to home. But not a temporary permit to the range.

thats what the cfo told me on the phone the other day, the one you get when the gun arrives is basically only to get it home from the post office if you are not home when the package arrives and the carrier takes it to the pick up point. you have to wait for the other one to arrive before you can go to the range. After that you can take it to anyu range not just the one you are a member of. I remember cause I thought at the time WOW I thought it was just my range I had a membership too

Thanks very much to you both for clarifying that for me. I was clearly told wrong before and don’t want to give others the wrong info either. Glad I have all my registrations already lol.

I had transfers approved on Aug 26, registration arrived Sept 12. In BC. About 2 weeks. One week after pistols arrived. Now I’m too busy to get to the range f:P:
I may have to call in sick…;)

Just had two approved this afternoon: one from Aug. 16 and one from Aug. 30. 6005###/6022###. Called the 9530 extension and had the transfer emails in my inbox less than 20 minutes later. Granted it was after multiple attempts to get through over the previous week.
