Transfer times in BC

After close to 100 calls and 2 months and 2 weeks, I got through! Had some luck at lunch time today. Very quick amd easy. I guess you just gotta keep trying. I started at 9am sharp but was not even put on hold, instead the line just cut after the msg said they are busy and to call back later.

The lady told me I dont need a STATT to go to the post office, which is a big surprise to me. She said as long as I am picking up from within BC, my LTATT on my RPAL is sufficient. Is this true? Maybe unique to BC?

Has been like this for years. But there are always people who like to argue.

I was just on hold for 35 minutes and then got cut off....so far 35 attempted calls today.

Got through a second time today to be put on hold until the office closed. It's such a joke. So random. My first transfers that I called in about took me 3 calls and about 30 minutes. Today it was close to 40 calls over 4 hours. Got to be put on hold twice... once cut off due to "technical difficulties" then the second because the office closed.

My success has only come when I sit down and dedicate myself to hitting redial over and over (and over and over) until I get through. The times I’ve just tried calling 4-5 times here and there in the morning, maybe again over launch and again in the afternoon have never worked. Only when I sit there and call 27 times back to back have I gotten through. I assume it’s because eventually you will be the call the gets through before all the other casual callers. Anyway, that’s what’s worked for me each time so far.

This. You MUST dedicate at lease one hour to work the phone. You should be averaging 2.5 calls per minute. Try a few calls here and there will not work work, well it may for some. I know some people do not have the luxury of doing so but for those that have the time/flexibility, this is the way that works. I have been successful in every attempt I make wheather it be calling the 5930 or the main transfer line using my instructions in post #503 when I dedicate an hour to it.

I was driving today with Apple Car Play enabled, programmed the BC CFO extension number in my phone and one touch redialed as soon as I got the "Please try again later message". I was successful twice, but once the dreaded "Sorry we have encountered a technical difficulty, please call again later" message, and then at 2:00pm, the "Sorry we are now closed" message. I do travel a lot for work and now that I have my phone programmed for the BC CFO office with the appropriate delays, I should be able to make this work early next week. For me sitting at a desk and dedicating an hour does not happen, so the Car Play calling will be my answer.

you know I do not think the last time I actually dialed the extension I think just stayed on the line ya Im almost positive because I was using bluetooth ear buds and my phone was just out of reach and the woman on the phone was different in the way she asked the questions to verify me. I know it works as both times I was only on hold 30 minutes or so and was approved really fast in fact so fast Marstar is having trouble believing I got approved in 3 days lol I didn't hit redial I didn't call over and over it was one call both times maybe Im just lucky? just not elsewhere in life lol

Only few of my calls reached waiting area. All these calls ended with "Sorry we have encountered a technical difficulty, please call again later". Will try again on Monday.

I have had luck many times with calling the nonrestricted line 90% of the time you get someone who can not do a restricted transfer but it’s always worked. Just keep calling. You might get the same person a few times who can’t do it and you just keep trying untill you get the one person who can. Always has been one person that can. Wait time is usually a few minutes or 5-6 min max. Good luck.

Side note. Image if they had an physical office you could line up at. The passport issue would pale in comparison

Who has the most recent transfer from the BC CFO WITHOUT phoning to have the transfer expedited? Are we into August transfers yet? Is the BC CFO actually going in numerical order? Why I ask, is that I see in the Ontario Restricted Transfer thread, there are many transfers being approved today.... on a Saturday. Is BC doing the same to clear the backlog?

I still have outstanding transfers from June. I spoke with a lady on the phone who said she could approve my transfers after Labor Day and gave me her extension. Tried a couple times to get in touch but no update and 0 transfers processed so far.

5990.......... August 9 Got the notice a few days ago and received the handgun yesterday.

It appears that the BC CFO is working overtime to approve transfers, as I was shocked to get an email from them yesterday (Saturday) responding to an email I sent them regarding my pending transfers (I only had one left at that point) with an approved transfer notification attached. So I have to give the BC CFO huge props for that.

Yeah, they approved mine from July. Although they approved it in response to an email I sent them a little while ago. Though I was surprised to see they had agents working on a Saturday.
