Transfer times in BC

After 3 hours of getting the phone line couldn’t take my call, I got through. Waited 30 mins and connected to a lady who approved 2/4 transfers within 10 mins.

I finally broke down and called at 9:54 this morning. Including being on hold was 37 minutes and had my last 4 transfers done. One was from June 10th

Called this morning for my final transfer. 20 minutes of calling starting at 8:55am. Got through all the busy signals and 23 minutes on hold before transfer put through by the always wonderful Nancy. Told her how appreciated she is by many on this forum. She was happy to hear it. Look forward to not hearing those recorded prompts and messages any more.

As of today, a transfer between individuals within BC took five weeks. This is after both parties got through on the phone.

I think this is pretty good considering the volume of transactions we've likely generated. I understand however, transfer time is dependant upon which provinces are involved.

before I called in I had waited 11 weeks for a purchase at the end of june its sort of common knowledge were 3 weeks faster than ontario so if you see the spreadsheet for Ontario and subtract 3 weeks unless they have hired more help since that's for restricted other classes are instant or over night

1.5 hrs and 26 calls this morning. (At least 3 times was on hold for 10 mins then booted. ) she did all 3 on file that were from mid Aug. I have One more left bought this weekend was not listed yet.

Has anyone consider sending chocolates or restaurant gift cards to the cfo office? Or is that going to get me in trouble for government bribery…. I wonder if they are even in the office. Or working at home.

Most of them are working from home. I asked when I heard a dog barking in the background once.

I called in for another STATT today and was able to get my last incoming pistol approved today aswell. Transfer started last week.
I have also been having pretty good luck at getting out going transfers approved aswell. One to Ont after 3 weeks, one to AB after 6 days, one to NB after 2 weeks and a few others. The BC CFO's information officers all tell me that they cannot approve transfers to other provinces but with out fail every time I ask I either receive the transfer notification the same day or the next.

got 2 approved just now. one purchase made in august and second made in august as well but the seller made the request later in august and i have another one still waiting purchased mid august as well but seems they put the info into the system just mid september ... well everybody is busy and good luck for all waiting.

she told they are still working on the july ones.

I just got through too.....to back East,...... I have three from late July and early August waiting on the BC CFO......I think I tried too late in the day getting ahold of the BC CFO

The wife just got a Buckmark she bought approved yesterday. She made the deal about 6 weeks ago, however the seller was unable to get thru to the CFO until last Thursday for a reference number. With the rumours of a full freeze coming today on all handgun transfers( let’s hope not) she tried the Restricted transfer number for about an hour before I dialed the non restricted transfer line for her. First call, straight thru and the helpful lady at the CFO said no problem I will transfer that for you.
I honestly think if you are trying to initiate a transfer you need to use every trick in the book to get it done now, if that fool Trudeau shuts it down and you don’t have a reference number you will be screwed

that is true do not wait.

I told the super lady I spoke too that we all appreciated their hard work and were actually talking about sending mini muffins but were unsure of where to send them about an hour later I checked the Email and my last remaining 3 purchases had been approved one was only 2 days old I had to wait longer to convince the dealers it was legit than it took to get approved lol. She never did tell me where to send the mini muffins though

6 hours calling today, lots of hold and hang ups. She wasn’t willing to expedite any transfer, been waiting since July 6th. All she would do is add my email to notify me when the transfer takes place. Defeated.

Did you call the BC CFO or the folks in Miramichi? Because what you describe sounds far more like the latter than the former in my experience.
