Transfer times in BC

Called 731-4000, did the 1-4-2. All day on hold. Lady was very nice but refused any kind of help pushing the transfer through.

That’s the extension to initiate your transfer. They have nothing to do with approvals. You have to call the CFO office in BC to expedite the approval. If memory serves (best check other posts in this thread), it’s 1 for English, 6(?) if you know the extension, and then 9530 (I think) for the BC office.

Program into you phone. Trust me, you’ll lose your mind otherwise.

1 (800) 731-4000,1,,,,,,1,9530

This^^^

Last Wedsday both the buyer and me kept phoning....Buyer got through first, and we did a 3-way call with Agent.

We got our transfer.

He was able to get a hold of B.C CFO using above method.....and they used reference number and approved transfer yesterday.

7 days.....

For those that are haveing trouble. These are the instructions for iphone and Android to program the numbers to auto dial through the menus. This is for the BC CFO. If you want a CFO from a different Province then just substitute the last 4 digits with the CFO extention of the Province you are trying to reach.

You just have to keep calling. Having the number saved and programmed to push the buttons for you is going to make it a lot easier. I have initated about a dozen transfers, 6 in the last few weeks and it does not take me more than an hour to get through with non stop calling. I've gotten to the point where people are suprised when I conference them for their half of the transfer.

Program the number into your phone as such: 1-800-731-4000,1,,,,,,4,2 (to initate a transfer) or 1-800-731-4000,1,,,,,1,9530 (to reach the BC CFO)
Each comma is a 2 sec pause, you phone will dial the first number then it will pause then push the 1 then pause for 12sec (to wait for the annoying new recording) then it will press the 4 and so on.

If using Android, with the keypad open, start entering the number, then press the three dot button in the top right corner and here you will have the add the pause. Add as many pauses as called for.

If using an iPhone, you have to add the number in a new contact. When you add the number there will be a button in the bottom left corner of the keypad (+*#), select this and there is where you can add the pause as needed.

Doing this all you have to do is press Send and End when you get the "We're sorry..." bit, hang up and just press send again.

I just called in and got 60448XX approved, started 4 days ago by a dealer. I think that’s finally it for me.

holly molly Jonas. are they scared of the coming election lol ... still one to get approved but i wont push my luck as a wonderful lady approved 2 this week ... i will try next week after the freeze coming ...

I actually mentioned to her that there’s lots of speculation implementation will come any day now and that I just wanted to get my final transfer approved and completed before the hammer falls. She put me on hold and three minutes later there was an approval email in my inbox.

Edit to add: I also thanked her and said everyone I knew who was dealing with their office appreciated how much grace under fire they maintained and that I hoped she still had a job when this was all over. She was thankful when I said the former and gulped when I mentioned the latter, which was apparent the concern was in her mind.

Sorry if it was already mentioned but I didn’t read the entire thread…if I bought a revolver from a dealer, can I call my provincial CFO and get it approved without any sort of reference number? I know with private sales we need one but wasn’t sure when buying from a store.

Finally got connected to CFO office today and amazing Sherry approved 3 of my pending transfers over the phone and I received the email (all done within 15 mins). Now waiting for them to get shipped. Any idea how long does it take to get the new PAL (as these are my first restricted) and all other paper work like ATT and registration certificates in mail?

I just sent them an email, I have transfers pending that go back over 3 months.... ? I don't know how people get though on the phone, I've tried a few times but I've been working quite a bit for the last 2 months and don't have time to call in during regular hours... not that they seem to keep regular hours.

No kidding. It's not even 4pm and there's just an automated message saying they're closed.
