Transfer Times

I got also new pal. But both number and everything looks same. I don’t see any difference. So do i have to call them for new pal?

So my first buy was June 2nd transfer started June 4th retail 5906### in Ontario.. still nothing.

Butt a private sale and last gun I bought August 9th was approved today ???

Lol the 7 guns in-between those are still not approved lol

Seems no order in what they are doing

private and dealer are slightly different ques I believe the private to be faster but some folks disagree

So some folks had success with emailing? Is there a specific BC_Cfo email?

I tried emailing once last month I got an auto reply saying up to 3 days to get back to me they never did and I faxed once two months ago with no reply either. it might well be the nature of the contact if its important they will reply if its regarding a transfer they might ignore it. some guys have had luck but I believe and I may be wrong but I think that was very early on in the process before they got hammered now unless your on fire its ignored

After you call 1-800-731-4000. So you press option 1 then 4 and then 2. I did same thing and she told me that its forward to your bc office. So i asked her that is that special number to talk with bc officers. And she said after dial 1800 number I should press option 1 then again 1 then 4 digits ext. number to talk to them. My question is are you guys doing same thing also to get approval fast?

I did the 1, 4, 2 thing, and waited on hold for about 30 mins. She wasn't able to process the transfer, but was able to add my email to the transfer so I wouldn't have to wait for it to be mailed. Also let me know that my FOC order had not been submitted to them yet (I'll have to call them on Monday or Tuesday I guess).

What is the extension for BC to get to the person who can actually approve the transfer?

Spoke with Ontario CFO at Taccom today and they are trying to hire for a couple positions to help expedite the backlog. Also asked if they could get other provincial CFO’s to help the backlog.

It should be automatic once they approve your first restricted. The main part of your rpal number is the same but after the decimal point, it will show ######xx.0002 Above that, there will be additional language about the transportation (ATT) If you don't get a new rpal after receiving your restricted approval (about 2-3 weeks), give them a call.

They’ve been trying for a while. You see the job postings mandatory requirements? Jesus if I had all those skills they are looking for I sure wouldn’t be okay with there 30$ an hour sad starting rate. These positions will continue to go unfilled just like many other government jobs. Canada is lacking workers everywhere. Do you really think anyone with all these mandatory prerequisites would actually apply for a job they know probably won’t be around a year or two from now?

As for borrowing from other CFOs Jesus it sounds just like the military. We’re all short staffed but I’m going to steal your short staffed office to staff my short staffed office, and so on and so forth like musical chairs! But instead of taking chairs away you take people away because there sick of the bull#### and the chairs get more and more empty!

As much as I’d love for the situation to get better I’m more realistic about the situation. I expect my transfer 6026### (started Wednesday) to be approved here in Ontario hopefully before 2025. I’m serious. If I see it before then I’ll be happy. I’ll be happy to see it approved at all at this point. I’m even nervous about my 5929### making it before our fine leaders cancel all this stuff in the works. (Yes I’ve seen posters post things saying they can’t or won’t do that) but I’ll believe it when I see it with this government and there back to “work” soon...

My transfer was started on June 7th then was sent to the AB CFO on June 23 for approval.

I've still heard nothing. I've called them directly no less then 10 times and almost every time I get this message right away.... "We're sorry, we're unable to take your call right now. Please try again at a later date."

The two times I was put on hold, it was for about 5 minutes, then I got that same message.

Are you dialing the extesion number. It takes a few times i did 2 today at 1130 to a few calls then was on hold for 59min then was answered. Thats 4 in in 2 weeks completed like this

Likely done by design, no intention of hiring anyone but gives the illusion they are.

Purchased a restricted from an Ont. Vender June 17
Transfer initiated June 23
Transfer approved Sept 10

I sent a polite Fax in yesterday to the BC CFO
Emails useless.
Now I've got to get the item shipped!

I mean most jobs always list the most ridiculous job requirements. I’ve applied for many jobs I wasn’t qualified for and got them. Aside from that obviously the first two weeks of June had a high number of purchases, but stock went low and people were buying way less for about a two month period until some shops brought in a bunch of shipments again mid to late august. I bet you’ll see that 6###xx before Christmas.
