Transfer Times

Why don’t they just tackle high numbers on the weekend and the lower numbers on week days, if they can knockout like 3k on weekends wouldn’t that be more effective, I’m getting impatient I can’t imagine how impatient others are from waiting

Exactly! I've been waiting in BC for 3 months now. Putting into perspective, 3 months = 60 business days = 450 working hours * 5 staff = 2,250 working hours total * 4 and hour = 9,000 transfers. Figures are probably less due to time off, human inefficiencies, etc. Shows the scale that even a whole team can only get through several thousand. Imagine now that there are 10s of thousands of transfers...

5972### ONT to BC (private) initiated July 19 completed October 18 (as the seller).

Painful to see as I'm still waiting for a July 7th transfer as the buyer, ONT to ONT (business-private), and it's not even a handgun.

Tried calling AB CFO multiple times. 99% of the time get a message that they can't answer due to call volume. Managed to get on hold three times but was hung up on each time nearing the 35 minute mark. Will keep trying!

Alberta seems to be catching up. Two of my transfers started 4 weeks apart finished just 6 days apart.

Most recent one was transfer# 5981###, started August 2. Got the notice today without ever getting through on the phone.

Got 5976xx approved today. Called the BC CFO using 9530, dedicated am hour to it. Prob 50 calls then half hour on hold. July 12th transfer was sent. Sad that this is how we have to do it.

Started July 18. I did not call in.

I figured around Christmas for my 2 transfers 59880XX and 59926XX initiated on Aug 9 & 10. The first was business to private and the second was a private sale, both ON to BC. I called the BC CFO today (only 15 mins on hold) and learned they are currently processing first week of July transfers, but if you call them direct, they are authorized to approve your 2 oldest transfers on the spot as long as they were initiated more than 24 hrs ago. The BC CFO extension is 9530. Hope this helps all you fellow British Columbians out there! My firearms ship tomorrow morning. That’s it for all my transfers. Best of luck to all you other gents and ladies out there in this fantastic firearms community!
