Transfer Times

Thanks for the info!! last time I got through I only asked for one to be approved. Have two left so going to try and get those done if I get through (fingers crossed)

Thanks calling and updating. Mine is from Ont retailer to BC, initiated on July 22, 5975###. Will post when mine is approved.

Tried calling AB CFO multiple times. 99% of the time get a message that they can't answer due to call volume. Managed to get on hold three times but was hung up on each time nearing the 35 minute mark. Will keep trying!

Got 5976xx approved today. Called the BC CFO using 9530, dedicated am hour to it. Prob 50 calls then half hour on hold. July 12th transfer was sent. Sad that this is how we have to do it.

They won’t win if you stop them from winning. Get a trappers license and apply for an ATC for the purpose of wildlife protection. It says right in their new law that individuals with an ATC are exempt. As law abiding, responsible gun owners, it’s a valid move. Time to take back our rights as Canadians in the land of the free! 🍁 🇨🇦
 
I have an atc as a trapper,they don't give them out lightly and mine is dispatch only,.22 caliber only.
They won't give protection from wildlife unless you are quite a ways north.
Even though I am covered in Aurora and Peterborough district which covers a vast area,north of highway 7 with lots of bears,I don't get protection caliber carry.
 
Just got my transfer approved, from a purchase made on the 7th. Ont business to BC resident. I called the 4000 number, then used the BC 9530 extension. 4 "I'm sorry, we cannot take your call..." before I got through to being put on hold, then a wait for 38 minutes. Then an operator! Yay! The lady on the phone was very happy to help. She put me on hold after taking my name and license number. While I was waiting, I got cut off. So that sucked. But wait! two minutes later she called ME back and apologized for the phone system. "Check your email", she said, so I did, and there was the transfer approval. Yahoo! So if you're in BC and waiting for an approval already in the works, call extension 9530. Worked for me. Ref # 60459###

Thank you for this information. The circumstances in each province are likely different. Out west, a gun shot is like a grizzly bear dinner bell, plus we have cougars around so I guess location will dictate. I’m a trapper and I’ll be applying for my ATC here shortly. I’ll provide an update when I get a response.

I have one. Made a deal 1st of June. Seller mailed in mid June after not being able to connect on the phone system. I rec'd call in mid July. Clarify the paperwork. Transfer number issued - 597ish. Projected to be completed by end of year. So about 7 months start to finish. Maybe longer. Hope this helps.
