Transfer Times

Wooooooahh!!
I thought my sarcasm was self evident, i really meant no disrespect and the comment was purely in jest (hence lol towards the end).
But re-reading it now I can fully understand why it might have been taken in wrong context.
Honestly i'm just happy that everyone's transfers appear to be going thru. :)

Fully apologise. I'll be more careful with how things are worded in future.

Perhaps I’m a little touchy, i am in the habit of reading what I wrote before I post it making sure I mean what I’m saying and not inadvertently ticking someone off.

That being said, apology accepted. Don’t let it slow you down on posting, all opinions are good whether we agree with them or not. And I hope your transfer gets approved soon.

This may seem like a stupid question but I only got my restricted just in time, should I be looking at Ontario or BC transfer times? I ordered 4 handguns from an Ontario retailer to be shipped to me in BC

Fortunately for you you are in the BC CFO's control. Give them a call or email and I believe they'll approve you.

Sent paper work in June, recieved by RCMP in Aug, approved this morning. Was living in BC when it started and moved to Alberta 2 months ago if that helps anyone.

Yet you still posted the last two posts youve made sounding like an unhinged jerk…

Me thinks you’re the one with manners issues.

I'm still waiting for one from June (dealer in Ont to me in BC) however I had another purchase from a different ONT dealer around the same time get to my door within 30 days.

We never know what someone is going through in their personal life which will affect their response.
I do concede that my comment can be construed as rude, especially if made towards someone who is unfamiliar.
I've had some exchange by PM with toogun, and all is well.

Have you tried email?

I got through yesterday and an incredibly helpful lady helped me. She mentioned something about a two-tiered approval process that started this week. Wasn't sure what that entails, but she put my transfers (7) through and I should get the paperwork next week. Very happy! Dont have to wait until next year for my last purchases!

A lot of the info about BC transfers is misleading, because you can (could?) call in and get them approved over the phone (usually not within two weeks of buying, and usually not more than 2 at a time, but it depended on who you talked to at the CFO office). So for BC buyers, do check to see if someone claiming their #603###X transfer came through mentions if it was "phone call" prompted or not. If it was, then it has no bearing on when things will be handled for people patiently waiting in the queue. Also, for those calling in, the BC CFO office is only open from 9am to 2pm.

I do wonder if calling in actually speeds up the transfers. I called in about Aug 23 and had 6 approved in about 10 minutes, you would think it was quicker for them to batch it rather than pull up all my data 6 different times to process a single transfer. Plus, the person at the cfo office gets to hear "thank you", which is nice, since its gotta be a thankless job for the most part.

I'm just leaving my remaining 3 SAA in the system until they process organically, I've got lots of other pews, and the range road just got snowed out anyway.

But still waiting on June 17th, that's brutal for BC (and sounds like AB is just as slow now). Good example of how much respect the govt has for your rights, liberties and freedom ("of course you legally have the right, but the paperwork will take 53 years...")

Snowed out!!! It’s 22 deg.C in the GTA today. Enjoying it while we can. Outdoor ranges are open and collecting lead.

It was a great range day. 5 guys with 23 pending transfers. True bananas scared away a bunch of guys from posting thier transfers. We had a great laugh and a lot of fun. Still smiling. I'll post transfers as they are approved. Unless True bananas comes unhinged. Cheers🥃
