Transfer Times

Again, for all, different provinces have different processing times. NS approves it between the time you put it in your shopping cart and when you click check-out, Ontario is awaiting the second coming before they consider processing anything.

So the numbers, of themselves, mean nothing. Now, if you are in Ontario, and have transfer #600000 and other people from Ontario have gotten their transfer #601000 approved, check your spam folder, give it a week, and then call in to the cfo. It could be anything from they typed in your email wrong, to a mistake on the submitted transfer (don't worry, you can correct it), to there's a hiccup on the sellers end (like they are being investigated for going to a PTA meeting). Fist, second, twenty sixth transfer, it shouldn't effect the time (if you bought several they may ask why, the appropriate answer is "they are all fun to shoot"). This isn't a precise operation, don't expect everything to click out in order. Its the govt FFS.

I called in with the Alberta extension today 9:15am using extension 9026. I got through on the very first ring. I talked to Nancy. She processed my last restricted transfer in less than 5 minutes and sent a copy to myself and to the store while I was still on the line with her.

...and then call in to the cfo

True enough. However I recently tried to correct a mistake they've made about one of my restricted firearms, seemingly dropping it from the list of rest they have on file for me. I called the Ontario CFO ninety-nine times in a row....yes 99.

I never got through. I finally gave up had haven't tried since.

Try emailing them.

Its the cfp, not really the RCMP (its sorta set up like a sub-contractor). They will get to you when they get to you. Time depends on the province you are in, most people in the larger provinces seem to be waiting 3 months plus another week or two for every day after june 1 (thats very roughly) since thats when the surge of transfers hit.
Has anyone ever dealt with Revenue Canada? Expect that level of care, competence, attention to detail and customer service.
