Transfer waiting time (Ontario)

I'd like to know why transfers are not completed by the CFO in numerical order...
There seems to be no system in place to process these transfers in any sort of logical sequence.....
 
I think (and it just a guess) that they sort them by ease.

If there is something "more" or something special then it may take longer.

My first handgun transfer took a fairly long time 2.5 weeks plus mailing. My last one took less than 1 week plus mailing.

Non-restricteds should take about 5 minutes plus mailing. My last one did. I had the cert in 5 days, and the gun in 7 or 8.
 
Okay, we've got ONE ending to one restricted firearm transfer.

Start date: 13 April
Approval date 10 May:
Duration : 28 days or just under a month.

That's what the kind lady at CFO Orillia mentioned.

I miss living in Alberta....
 
Just finished one 13 business days.

What gets on my nerves is, had it been a retail transfer, it would have been done in half that time. Last retail transfer was 5 days.
 
A business started a restricted transfer to me last Friday, I got a call on Tues that it was done, received the paperwork in the mail today. Happy camper... ;)
 
I called Al Simmons Gun SHop at 10:00am this past Tuesday and bought a Ruger MkIII. They called me back at 3:00pm that same day and said it was ready to be picked up, ATT and everything. :eek: 5 hours! Thats a record for me.:D
 
Last Thu we started transfer with CFC and today I called CFO and asked about my ATT. They asked me for reference # and check all data, then nice gent said, give me your fax number I will send your ATT.
So it took bit over one week, with my help.
Guys do not hesitate (after one week) to call, however be very nice it helps.
 
transfer time

when i bought my ar from wild west about a month ago went in the store at 230pm, bought the gun and left with it shortly after 4 pm. quick transaction due totally to the stores effort. brother bought an m1 carbine from the shootist approx 2 months ago took a month to get approved. depends on the phase of the moon more then anything I think:confused:
 
20 days and still waiting for the paper work to clear on my s&w 5906. they tend to be a bit slow on prohib handguns.
