Got my .35 Whelen back:D . I purchased it as a .30-06 a couple months ago with the intention of having it rebarreled. After a quick visit to Alberta at Rembo's shop (who did an excellent job by the way), it came back as a .35 Whelen. The barrel is a 22", 1:14 twist Bevan King. This is going to be my moose rifle for this year. I had to borrow the VXII 3-9X40 I had on my 7mm Rem Mag for now anyway.

That's what I thought.

Rick did a nice job.

I went the factory route; I bought the MKII stainless in 350 Rem Mag. I have it set up with a 225gr Partition load. I'm ready for moose...now I just need to get that elusive LEH next week.;)

Again, that's a nice shootin' iron. Let us know how she shoots.

Nice looking Ruger. I've been toying with the idea of a 338-06 or a 35 whelen on a Ruger M77 MII. I think I'd like to try the bead blasted finish on one...
 
That' s also going to be my next step, have it beadblasted. It's just a little too shiny for me for a hunting rifle.
 
I'm trying 4 different bullets with RL15. 250gr Speer Hotcores, 250gr Speer Grand Slam, 250gr Hornady IL SP, and 225gr TSX. You can look at my other thread "Trying my new Whelen, hot loads problem" a few thread down for details. I've been running into high pressure signs an higher velocity than expected with less than max loads. I'm going back to the range today with reduced loads, will see what happens.
 
I'll take the nice rifle compliment but the nice job goes to Rembo.:D I'm on my way to the range, will see how those new loads work out.

Post some pics once you get it blasted, I'd really like to see it. Something similar is in my future........... just not backwards like yours:)

Here's hoping she's a shooter for ya.
