Transporting loaded mags in the same case as a restricted

Is it legal to have loaded mags in the same locked case as a trigger locked restricted. The gun not having a loaded mag in it of course.

I've heard a lot of conflicting opinions on this question.


Why would I want to do this you ask.

To save time at the range and I store the mag's loaded in my safe.

I would just keep it separate. Get an 50cal or bigger ammo can - rivet a tab for the lock and put all your ammo in there.

Thats how I transport my ammo.
