Transporting meat back to Vancouver Island question.

Try a styrofoam cooler with ice-packs and taped up with masking tape. You can ship it on Greyhound like that and it should be fine.
 
Dry ice works well (with 1899's idea). It will last longer and won't create a mess if tipped over.

**edit** don't put dry ice right on the meat!!! wrap the ice in a towel or blanket.
