Trap Clubs

Just for fun I looked on google earth to see if the one on Lilooet rd in North Vancouver was there. Looks long gone.
I worked as a trap boy there. My job was to sit in the trap box and manually load the thrower.

I think I got $15 on Tuesday night and $25 for all day Saturday plus a burger and a coke.

Fun job and ever now and again we got to shoot.
This was in early 1980’s.

PS. I have a nice scar in my head from trap boy pigeon fight. (Snowball fight but with clay pigeons we would find that we’re still intact)

I too started as a trap boy but never made that big money.(,in the 70's) .Yes North Shore is gone ,lower Mainland, Duncans , Johnson's, all have been phased out or pushed out.I shoot Langley and a new 88 lot subdivision is being built up the street , see the writing and it's not a good thing...

As a kid growing up in Coquitlam in the early '60s, there was a trap and skeet fields out Monday lake way, past the garbage dump. In the Vancouver area, Coquitlam is between New Westminster on the Fraser River and Port Moody on Burrard Inlet. It is all houses now. Heck, in Burnaby which borders on the city of Vancouver, in the '50s we had pheasants in our neighbourhood. There are hi-rises there, now. Those are the changes I've seen in single lifetime.
