I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on which club(s) to join if I wanted to participate in skeet/trap shooting. I looked into the NCRRA and was a bit surprised by the high renewal fees, and from what I gleaned the ORA doesn't seem to actually do shotguns (maybe I'm wrong)

Any suggestions short of buying a field out in the middle of FA and throwing my own clay targets? :p

I ve enjoyed a few good games at Capitol skeet and trap. Cheapest in the city 4$ for a member 7$ for non member. Its between Rideau Rd and Mitchowens Rd on Beaumont Rd.

Ya there is a web site error. Seems no members are computer literate or have time. Try looking for capitoltrapandskeet.ca.
The club is open Wed. afternoon/evenings and Sunday noon time onwards.

To start: I'm retired. I joined NCRRA recently after not pulling a trigger for 40 years. I too was surprised at the membership cost, but it is worth every penny. Then $5/round. Everyone is friendly and helpful beyond my expectations. There are over 100 members who have great facilities to work with. There is a core group (now I'm one of them) who is there every Wednesday and Sunday and many others show up during the day. I'd say it is about 70% skeet, 20% 5-stand sporting clays and 10% trap. It is a pleasant social group and shooters of all ranks.

I might be going with the NCRRA after all, as I've come into an SMLE no4 mk1, and I'd to do some target shooting as well. Maybe get a 22 plinking pistol as well. So it'd be nice to have some place to do a bit of everything, and the NCRRA seems the best equipped for that.
