Trap shells

I had similar issues on a Perazzi TMS with a leaf spring trigger group - light primer strikes at random

Used a hammer coil trigger group - ran perfectly

People suggested cleaning and looking at the firing pin but I knew the issue was in the trigger group as it only happened with the leaf spring trigger.

Tried a new leaf spring, made no difference.

It turned out to be that the cocking foot was not moving freely.

Punched out the original pin and made a pin out the end of a drill bit. The cocking foot moved freely.

Never had light strikes since.

I made a lengthy thread with a lot of pics on trapshooters

And I hope they've fixed the issue of un-burnt propellant in their target shells.
Last time I shot Black Goose back in 2017, this is what it left in my Trap gun:

Also, the primer backing out:

They say it was not over-pressure.

Yup, my error, must be Black Goose. The last time I looked at their site, maybe a year ago, there was no mention of shotgun shells. I’m going to be at the Chilliwack Gun Show, easy to visit Black Goose.

I have a feeling, that within a few months, most people will be glad to buy whatever target loads they can find. Once all of the ranges that close for the winter open again, and everyone is shooting, it won't be easy to find target loads of any kind, in many areas.

Which store?

Al F's in TO had winchester flats for $92

Looks like Al is sold out and the AA were $112 when he had stock . I won't name the two major wholesale suppliers as they are not sponsors but when they don't have Rem Win and Fed shells plus powder and primers in stock times are bad. CTC and BP were the bandits that had a few Challengers at $120 + tax. , As I stated Niagara area

If you ask nicely at H theres some primers kicking around in the back room the odd time. Havent had much issue getting factory loads, mind you we mostly reload. Bass pro had challenger for $8 a box within the last two weeks, and the 100 packs of the cheaper winchester were $37.

If you also reload I have easily 1000 extra challenger or 1000 extra federal hulls once fired. I can easily get 1 or 2 reloads out of them and chuck them.

You won't get any at that price today and powder and primers are sold out at H and L only a few field loads available .
