Trap Shooting Cost per day

lol that is so true. shooting cost is so minimal considering what our individual Trap / Skeep / Sporting clay guns are worth.

our club in Kootenay castlegar charges $4 per round and $7 box of shells (mirage) if you need.
I usually purchase 10-20 flats at once to save money on bulk order.

I pay $200m per year for my range membership ( all the ranges included however) , and $150 for 100 rounds of trap and skeet combined.
ammo we get for $55 a flat for 12 gauge or 20 gauge tax in, and I handload my sub gauge stuff for less.

I usually spend around $20 for two rounds(50 targets) including ammo and a pop. I rarely shoot more than two rounds per outing any more , in fact I didn't even go out last year for the first time since I was 17. I went crow hunting every weekend instead. Targets are cheaper, you can kill them with the same ammo and the song and game birds get a reprieve from the nest raiding black devils. I also did the local farmers whose places I hunt geese on a service by cleaning their farms of pigeons. Much more fun than busting clay birds IMO........:D

My club charges $100 for 24 rounds. $150 for 100 rounds is by far the best price I have have ever heard.

That is a good deal, however, it is only given to the RSO's that open and cloase the trap and skeet ranges up on Thursday evenings or Sunday mornings, because of the workload that is involved in running and maintaining the outfit.

Family membership is $140 per year ($125 I think for single).

Trap or skeet is $3.75 per round.

Box of my own reloads is about $4.50

I normally shoot 4-5 rounds and go at least once a week except during waterfowl season.

So, I'm about $33 per visit give or take. Given the cost of most entertainment, I think that's pretty fair.

At Stittsville shooting range:
Non member 7.50 per round.
Member 5.5 per round.

Ammo not inlcuded.

I shoot 4 rounds every time I go, that makes 22 + 4 boxes of ammo = $46 approx.

Round of skeet or trap is $4.00, box of shells is $8.00 so 12 bucks a round all in. Think he said membership are 10 bucks, but since I just started coming to not worry about it for this year.

A typical day at the club for me...

2 rounds of 16 yrd
1 round of doubles
1 round of handicap

20 in fees
25 in ammo (I roll my own)
1 for a pop

46.00 for the day

Our membership is only 50 for the year, and my Beretta S682X cost a bit, but I don't factor those costs in. Fun is fun, no??:)

6$ per round x 5-6 rounds. Looks like my club charges the most :-(

Shells 6$ per box x 5-6 boxes

Gas 25$ there and back

Total 85-95$ to shoot 5-6 rounds. I spend more time driving there and back then shooting :-(

Looking out at the field, nothing but sky and grass, no city sounds, gunshots cracking around me...... priceless!
