Trap Shooting Gun for a Left-Hander - a few questions:

When I decided to go the semi route, I shot trap with an old RH Rem 1100, 20", 3 gun special for a while. They have always provided great service to those with mechanical aptitude and willingness to clean them. Mechanically it ran great, but as many will confirm, they are a rather filthy beast, requiring diligent cleaning.

Being RH made it very awkward to load on the line; you seemed to always be rolling it around. I also no longer want to shoot anything where my eyes are on the same side as an ejection port.

I really wanted to find an old 1100 LH trap model, but my search came up empty. Remington, who always used to be considerate of left shooters, failed us with the 1100 Competition. It was built RH only apparently.

I am not going to brag up my A400's reliability, because although it has yet to break down, it is still quite new. What is impressive, is how clean it runs, and how easy it is to disassemble for cleaning. It is a very simple design.

For a clays gun I think you will find some other benefits worthy of your attention, beside the Blink thing.

Minor update to this thread - I made a new purchase to add to the trap collection.

Found a good-lookin' BT-99 from a CGN user that was looking to find it a new home.

The idea being that a BT-99 has a 'neutral' cast stock with some good adjustability options.

Going to give this a try - see how it fits, and see how it works.

It has an adjustable comb, but no adjustable butt - am considering getting a Graco style adjustable plate to help improve the fit.

This will be my first 34" - have been shooting my 30" up til now, we'll see how big of a change it is.
